Call me a total rookie, but 2 things I've learned you never "flag" or do off duty.... 1. Fuel and 2. Pre/post trip. If your off duty, yet checking your truck out...........then aren't you on duty? If you really think skimming 7 mins here or there is going to save you time and make you money, then you might consider a union type job. (no offense to those guys, LOL)
And yes, on paper you can show that you slept in the bunk while waiting to unload, legal? I guess each company/trucker has their own ideas opinions on that one. No offense, but when you said your still "new", it shows. I'm not trying to be mean, but little things like that will have you shut down for 10hrs and spending 1/2 your check if not more on the ticket.
Also, to the poster that said about safety guys monitoring threads.....indeed. I would be VERY careful what you post on here, and even though you didn't admit to "cheating your books", yes, ya did (to anyone that knows anything).
That being said, I filled out the online app Monday for the Turlock terminal. I'm calling tomorrow to check up on the paper work and see if they'll take me, if so, I'll do my own detailed post about them, new info is good info for me. I have read and read and read this forum and now decided to join. AGAIN, didn't mean to be negative or piss ya off to the OP but, slight of hand only works for David Blane, not truckers! Good luck to ya, and hope its a fit for ya! -
I worker at IRT out of the Turlock terminal for 9 months before being called back to my non trucking job, which I am still at. If you are running the west coast fleet its not a bad gig. I live in Fresno and got by the house every week for at least my 10. Stayed out 3 weeks went home for 3 days. There are still a few outlaws who run multiple books to run more miles but I would advise against it. Their SAFER scors were not really good when I was there, so we were always getting pulled in for log book checks and level 3 inspections. I never had a problem, log it as you run it and you never will. If something is wrong with the truck or trailer get it fixed. IRT has real nice trucks, I got one with 875 miles on it after 2 months #1043. They spec them with fridges, and nice interior. You wont get rich, probably run 2100-2500 per week. If you can get cream loads out of Lindsay, CA to Dalhart, TX those are good runs.
Be safe and keep the black side down!! Oh they charge you $300 for chains (deduct out of check $25week), but you goota have them running up and down 97 all week.

i'm wondering where are all the updates that FSU said he would post. i'm guessing the people who monitor this figured out who he was after reading his posts & told him to go home we'll call if we need u. smh some of these so called drivers
-
He posted 2 weeks ago on the POLY TRUCKING thread that "I do not want to blow this one since I already left the river to get to this interview".
-
lol pretty much let his mouth get him in trouble lol
-
I am looking at returning to driving. Love tankers. Might be giving them a call very soon. IRT was very easy to work for, had two real cool dispatchers Shannon (former driver) and Rob.
-
Well it's good time to call, ad today for drivers, solo or team, with a pic of their Int'l though???
