Malware and viruses planted on websites that can attack an Android phone.
Just a year ago I recall being told Androids didn't need protection but that has changed drastically in a short time.

When you research and download antimalware and antivirus products use caution as websites can be a front for banking hacks and extortion attempts using pornography, etc.
Only download antimalware and antivirus for your mobiles and tablets from company secure websites and not other download sites. Here are three reputable softwares:
AVG for Android Mobiles
Avast! Free Mobile Security
Norton Mobile Security

Be careful when downloading from all of the Android markets.
An app may behave fine for a while and then launch it's attack at a future time, that would make it harder for you to know that an app is malware.

After starting this thread it occurred to me that security software makers who's revenues come from direct sales or adware may have ulterior motives. They may, I say, and I'm just putting it out there.
