Prime is a good company but I had a trainer that impossible to put up with. Yelling, screaming, cursing, belittling, just an all around awful person. I put up with him for 8 weeks, kept saying to myself you can do this only a few more weeks, but he finally got on my last nerve. Got off his truck, came home and tried to do some local but not enough money here. Glad to be on board with TA. Looking forward to having only me in the truck. Cant think of better company...hahahahah

When my husband first started with TransAm it wasn't against any rules to call the shipper or receiver. The no calling rule is something that was new before he left. The problem is that so many times a driver isn't given adequate information and your paycheck and your safety depend on having that information. Why stay at the closest rest area that is 50 miles from your destination if they have overnight parking? You lose time off of your clock and shorten your available hours to work. Or do you take a chance on going in and they don't have a place for you and you end up in an abandoned parking lot in a bad area of town? Sometimes even calling ahead is no guarantee if the available parking is not secure. My opinion is that it is the responsibility of an employer to supply this information and if they do not then you have the right to find out for yourself. You will go to the same places many many times and become familiar with what is available and it won't be a problem, however the times that it is somewhere that you are not familiar with it should be no problem for them to answer a couple of simple questions.

The rule about not calling is one of the reasons for the blog. If we can get enough input it will hopefully fill in the information gap and then no one will have to break these "rules" that are designed for their convenience and not the driver's safety.

This should be a great year for fall color. I think we will have a beautiful fall in the Ozarks this year also. The temps have dropped here today and is dark and dreary right now but should be nice next week.

The biggest problem they have with driver's calling is, the driver trying to change the appointment times. TA usually gives a looooooooong time for you to get there, so that the load will never be late. Good for TA, all that wasted time, not so good for driver. Then if you do get it changed, somebody has to do some work, to find you an earlier load...... maybe.

Husband must have been fired many times also :yes2557:, if it was some place new he always called.... or if he was ahead of schedule, which he always tried to be.

A few new receivers have been added to the blog, some from Husband's notebooks and passport. New OTR Wife sent me a list and addresses from her husband's notes even though he has left Transam, I will get them added soon. Thank you New OTR Wife!

Thanks HTQ. I agree with you. If they tell me not to call, then they better provide me with the correct info. Joe told us we are not allowed to call because drivers in the past have been ignorant with the shippers and receivers. I believe some were but not the majority. I will call if I have to. I looked on your blog. That is some good info. I already put it in my favorites.

transam pete somehow I believe you... lol

I took my fall safety class yesterday 10-4-2013 and Chris informed us that Terry had been fired. Chris said Trans Am "re-tooled" again, and they done away with Terrys job.

Over weight tickets at Trans Am Trucking are 100% on the driver. Your over weight, you pay the fine. Trans Am is always sending messages about weighing your load, and do not take the weight for granted that it is legal. As far as getting paid for miles back to the shipper its all on the driver. You can either eat the miles, or just set there and never make any money, because they are not paying miles back to shipper to get the load re-worked. I know because I made a big deal about it, and it got me no where. Some days are good, and some days are not.
