I was passed by two of them this week. PASSED. By 2 Prime trucks. Of course, I'm governed at 60, so pretty much everything passes me, including butterflies.

To tell u the truth, I don't see a difference in the mpg whether I get one wit or w/o the skirts or tails or both. I guess all that matters is prime see an increase in mpg. So DTB, both of u r the boss, ok I got it.:biggrin_25519:

I see a good 0.3 to 0.5mpg increase with them deployed, but then again I keep very close track of my fuel mileage. Do deploy them, just not in Maryland or Canada.

Passed......by Prime? :biggrin_25521: I used to get all excited when I passed someone. :biggrin_2559:

I chatted with an O/O with the tails sometime ago and he said he liked them mpg wise, though they are goofy looking,

Hello, how are all of you doing today? I have a few questions about Prime Inc, as I am wanting to take the next step in my life and drive OTR. 1st question Does Prime run thru New Jersey alot, specifically by Perth Amboy, Newark, Elizabeth area's? 2nd question. Whats Prime Inc. Like to work for as rookie? I've read that they make you sit for days at a time sometimes, is this true? 3rd question. How are they with maintaining and fixing the equipment when their is a problem? 4th question. How are they at reimbursing you at buying stuff that the truck needs as long as you have recipts? 5th question Anything else I should know about Prime Inc.? Yes I have been researching since July about theOTR lifestyle and sasacrifices that are made. Sorry for the long reply.

All the time. Most folks get too much NJ.

They will break you in a bit so that you're not being fed challenging loads too quickly. However, except for the economic downturn years my experience is never having to "sit for days at a time." There are some weekends where if you unload Sunday morning you may not get another load until Monday... but that depends on the area. Meat loads tend to have some longer open windows, but that is something that's intrinsic to the nature of their business that the carriers (not just Prime) really can't control.

The equipment is first class, with tractors rarely being over 3 years old. They maintain it well, but it's also dependent on the driver reporting equipment problems so they can get you in somewhere for it to be fixed. If you drop a trailer with a flat tire, then someone else will be stuck with getting it repaired.

As long as you get the stuff scanned in along with your bills, AND you have obtained the appropriate PO numbers via the QUALCOMM, you'll see it on your next weekly settlement. That being said, sometimes mistakes do happen, so you do need to check your settlements and make sure that you do get your reimbursements. If not, all call to your Fleet Manager or payroll will clear things up without a tussle.

That's difficult to say... depends on what kind of information you're fishing for.

Thank you for the quick response Iron Pony.So hometime in Nj wouldnt be too much of a problem. As to equipment, I have no problem saying something broke and it needs fixing, I also understand that its my responsibility to report all or any incidents with equipment. I like to have nice, clean, working equipment. I am pretty mechanically inclined and don't mind replacing lights or the stupid bs to save time and money. I have no problem doing hard work and figuring out problems on my own. In the end, im about representing and taking pride in my work and my company. I feel like Prime and me would be a good fit for each other.

I pulled up to the Salvation Army in Perth Amboy once to get rid of a pallet of rejected biscuits from Wakefern. I pulled in, they looked at me and said "biscuits?" I nodded, and was told that we had brought enough of them in there to last them a year.
