That's a NICE old Ford!! I'd love to score one of those...they're one of my favorites from that era.
KB Grain Thanks this. -
I will be pulling a hopper bottom hauling grain locally. I've acquired my own authority for both intrastate and interstate. I have an inside track to haul produce for a local grower/broker also.

When I set out earlier in the summer looking for a truck to purchase I was originally hoping to score a KW or Peterbuilt hood. I found this for 1/3rd the cost. It fills my wants quite nicely as I started driving in a Louisville Ford thirty years ago.

I have always liked the old fords too. Not many left anymore for sure it is a slick ol truck.

I've never owned another truck other than a Peterbilt, from cabovers to 359s to 379s. Recently wanted to update to a CA legal truck and was looking for a 389. Local dealer (Rush) had a 2009 386 and 2009 389 for sale. Both had nearly identical specs and miles - ISX/13sp/350K/Platinum int... etc... 389 price - $77,000, 386 price - $49,000. Couldn't bring myself to spend $28,000 for the hood and thought I'd get better fuel mileage with the 386 so I bought it. The 2 trucks are identical from the firewall back. Turns out that hauling RGN there's little to no fuel mileage difference between the 2. Crazy as it sounds I wish I'd a bought the 389.

How they look is part of it. And they do make some things easier to work on. But mostly it's because that extra foot of hood make a smoother ride in the seat.

The chicks dig it.....

I bought what came with the right opportunity, so I own a 2006 w900b with an acert cat. I prefer the L look wise, but with a 244" wb limit the short nose gives me room for flatbed gear.
so to answer the original question, it's my money, I'll spend it on what I need/wantCriminey Jade Thanks this. -
Are part-time band leaders semi-conductors? If you have to ask, resale value, comfort and if you gotta ##### about mileage don't buy one. I did'nt care, but got 6.5 Wbnd and 7 -7.5 Ebnd running from Balt-Sea.
Peterbilt 500 CAT 15 Eaton Over Lots of lights and chromeCriminey Jade and wore out Thank this.
