Well, after bouncing all over the spectrum, I am in Pittsburgh, delivering HP tomorrow at the Giant Eagle. Originally, I was headed to Florida, but a certain someone needed to get home, and I would have walked over hot coals to get him there. I was glad to give up my load for him. Anyone else? It would have cost ya. Heheheheheheheeh

After this, i am headed to Wytheville to grab a load going to TN, then back to Wytheville to grab a load to Mountain Top. And with any luck, I'll bring something back and shoot to mi casa for a couple days..... and Lord knows I could use some "recliner therapy".

Y'all be safe out there, okay?

    ....... tired arf......

Thanks again buddy. I truly appreciate the gesture. Like I wrote on my blog, next time we are together somewhere, dinner is on me. You're a class act that's hard to follow. Be safe. Talk soon.

I'll gladly take you up on that buddy.

Sitting here in Pittsburgh for 2.5 hours waiting to find out if they are going to unload me today. According to the construction people, they weren't expecting us until tomorrow. Not even sure why they scheduled it for now. The site is not even secure.... no doors, no windows. Not to mention that the parking lot is nothing but a huge mud pit. Bad enough, i told them i was not pulling my truck in there. And they don't even have a loading dock. Typically when i see people walking through mud, and they are sinking up to tbeir ankles, I assume a 20,000 pound tractor does not stand a chance.

So.... hanging out to see what the new plan is....

I was reading JohnBoy's thread and what they done to him. I think it was awesome that you would give up your load for him. Hope it worked out for both of you. Enjoy

Hey SD how'd the mud pit delivery go? I did a commissary north of Pissburg (wife is a Steelers fan) that was the same way. Was good going in but almost got stuck in the mud bath coming out empty.

So had a nice puckerfactor today. My delivery was in Warren, PA on the outskirts of the National Forrest, you know hills, winding roads, wet leaves.... Running down Rt6 had to make a hard right then about 100' make a left. We'll the roads were wet from the rain and dummy me didn't move the jake up to off. Started my right, truck dropped a gear and tach went up to 2k, yeah you know what's coming. Drives kick out and start sliding. Glad one of the things I learned in my job in the military was to keep calm under fire and stress. When the changed the parameters of the engine it also changed the shifting. That and the electrical gremlin I have turns off the ABS and traction control. Since this was my first fun adventure like this in an auto my mind went into overdrive of what to do. Engine started screaming and no traction so I smacked the shift into neutral, quick scan showed me no cars, median was flat. Straightened it out and went into the triangle median. Still no traffic so threw it in gear and rolled out of the grass and went. My thought was that I would rather be out of cash for a wrecker to get me out of the sunk grass than out of cash for a wrecker and body shop work.

RC, if you are heading north and aren't delivering near the GW bridge go around it. Going up the NJ Tpk get off I80 west, take Rt17 north, then I287 across the Tapan Zee bridge and you can head up that way. Is like only 20 extra miles but can cut major time off plus the wear and tear on your back.

Did you get directions? Do you remember them? If so go to the directions thread I started. Search Abilene and you will see the directions thread I started.

The mud wrestling thing is still ongoing. They where going to scrape all the mud off the lot and put down some gravel and we are going to try again today. Parked at the Pilot, waiting for a phone call. There was another driver that had come in the night before so its only fair that he unloads first. He's new, and I am sure he would have let me go first, but I would not have felt right about that. Due to the rescheduling of the unload, I have already be taken off of my next load, but there will be others.

Uturn, glad to hear to you pulled it together..... sounds like you made all the right moves. Now DON'T DO THAT AGAIN (shaking finger) ! ! ! !

    Y'all have a great day
