Have a load to San Diego and will need to re-set after delivery. Does anyone have any info on this particular Pilot???

I hate having to reset in Cali due to the ignorance of building HUGE population centers and no Truck Stops according to need!

Is this a decent place to reset or should I look elsewhere? I will be picking up in SD when I'm reset so I don't really want to go far.

I have the ability to stay where ever I need to.

I prefer Pilot/Flying J due to my shower balance (YES, that's important to some of us!!! LOL)

But I can stay elsewhere if needed.

Let me know, Good? Bad? Anything to do around there?

    Thanks to all!

It's decent and generally pretty clean with awesome weather. Nice mountains in the backdrop too. Very safe, and there's a Wendy's and a Dairy Queen there. I've spent a few 34 he resets there. No biggie.

That pilot is pretty much all areas for parking down there .. There is one other little truck stop down there on highway 905 but other than that there really isn't any other parking in the San Diego area

You're right next to the Mexican border. Why would you even tempt fate?

just take the trailer with you to wally world, not sure if the walmart there allows overnight but you can call them and find out as well. If you persist then just talk to the people working at the Pilot, a lot of times you can get clear to drop a trailer for a couple hours, make sure to stick a kingpin lock on it though, like Jo said your near the border and anything can happen...
The pilot in that area is your best bet though unless your company has a drop lot/terminal near.

Geez that's a Pilot now? Hmmm it used to be a mom n pop,and it was CRAZY at Otay!! I haven't been down that way in a few years, but I remember they had separate showers/ gender and they had a big O jacuzzi in the women's showers. :biggrin_25521:

There's actually tons of parking in San Diego, IF you know where. Nooks and crannies abound, side streets, just need to know where. I've never seen that newer Pilot mentioned yet, since I haven't been down that way in years. There are indian casinos east on I-8 east of El Cajon. One for sure has truck parking, Acorn, but is a distance out on I-8. There's Viejas, Sycuan, Barona. You might call to check on truck parking, if you're so inclined.

But in reality, how safe is that parking? A border city is the very last place I would want to park just any ole where. If you haven't paid attention to other trucking related web sites, truck and cargo theft is a problem

As for parking at that Pilot, it's not bad, considering it's really the only game in town.
