I had a lil' over a year OTR flatbed steel hauling.I was in an accident almost a year ago and was charged with over-turned CMV. I was told by one recruiter that I needed to get a clean year of driving a CMV after the accident before they could hire me. Does anyone know of ANY companies at all that might give me a chance. I would work for ANYONE so I could get that clean year (I don't care how bad of a company). I really loved the job more than I ever thought I would've and will do whatever I have to so I can get back out there. Any help or advise anyone can give me would be great, Thanks

Well Jay I can tell you're very sincere and passionate about truckng. So I would suggest going to companies in your area and talk to them.Far as companies online are concerned, you're application is just another application. They can't see or hear how much this carreer means to you.A member here went to usx and Rohel and got approved. So walking in and talking to the company really does help.

Chinatown will be here any minute... or has already PMd OP his little list!! BTW, is that a client list?? Companies with horrible CSA, for sure. Next joseph with Western Star.

Hey! OP be careful what you ask for!! You dug the hole for your CDL with the wreck. The companies you're going to hear about are likely to put the final headstone up for it. My standard response: deal with the problem, don't dig yourself in any deeper. Stuff happens, it was your turn.

Find a spot as a yard hostler, maybe combo dock worker or shipping and receiving--not driving for a dreg carrier that has earned an outrageously bad CSA score. If hired, you're also a top candidate for sacrificial lamb.

Sacrificial lamb = driver a bad company fires to show FMCSA that they're cleaning out bad drivers. Dog and pony show at your expense. Deal with the problem, please. Don't just look for a company bad enough to hire you.

Hey! Jay!! Are you for real?? These posts like this show up what, every day? So the likes of Western Express, Western Star, Carolina Cargo, Buel, PTL--or other similar with horrible CSA scores take turns posing a newbie question like this so they can get their company names in front of newbies??

Tell us about your accident, Jay. So we can look it up on your company's CSA (which we can) and verify that your accident actually took place (which we can). Company name or DOT number. State and month of occurrence. Whether any other vehicles involved. Go to Maintenance/Crashes on your former company's CSA, Jay.

    Let's talk, Jay.

GOOD LUCK ON A ROLL OVA. got a cuz had a roll ova, he had 16 years his company SWIFT he was a 0/0 he had 11000 and straight wind blew him ova. police report said so. still got fired and he was o/o. when swift got thru he still owed swift $200. every company told him no come back in 3-5 years. he now has a job as a spotter truck(yard dog). go to warehouses, dump truck, garbage pickup, the farm pulling hopper bottoms, some time they send you to different grainers and ports, try companies that pull containers they have o/o looking for drivers they might not be as picky. you are gonna have to aim small hope for best. major carriers will tell you that their insurance carrier will not except a roll ova. you can try STAR TRANSPORT out of Morton, il the red one that is(was) my employer they have csa score in 90%. this is a regional company i had to go in every scale. except il sometime had to go in a lot of weigh stations for inspections. because of their score. try them before nov 1st because i got letter last week saying they are fleet owners under swift starting nov 1st. trust me they suck they fired me while im in litigation with a workers comp injury and then they are in court with EEOC because they fired 2 Muslims because the load interfered with their prayer time. so trust me they suck do a app on line www.starttransport.com awe yea the truck suck too. my clutch went out and they said it was a portion of my fault even though i only had trk for 5 months and trk had ova 800000 they took 500 out my check. but the mile pay is pretty good if you got a year you start out at .40, 2 year .41 top out at .46 i averaged 2000-3600 they still have paper but are switching ova to electronic log. i had a electronic log truck. if you want to call 8005486082 pick selection for safety. ask to speak to mr mike (in safety) he is a real cool old school truck driver he helped me a lot he is ova orientation. he will try and help u if he can. he was there in april when i was there on light duty now they aint the greatest but its a job they don't have great insurance and they will tell you that to face they have 387 petes and the letter i got say they are sapose to get some ken680 in i don't want u to think im in recruiting caz im not. you asked for a company there you go. all they can say is yes or no. remember the roll ova will be off your CSA in 3 years. HANG IN THERE KIDDO!!!!!

Don't know how the roll-over occurred , but in most cases , too much speed is the culprit. With a recent roll-over on your record it may be really hard to get hired , at least with a good place anyhow..you could try those already mentioned , or go knocking on doors like pattyj said....just remember a roll-over in the trucking business is just as bad a job killer as a DUI/DWI ...... or a failed random is....it reeks of irresponsibility.

Since you're in the neighborhood, did you try Logan in canton? I'm not sure how lenient they are with accidents, but I've heard it's not a great place to work ,, so maybe? Bummer about the accident, valley seems like a decent gig. Considered them when i started. Good luck!
