Your over on line 3. Only allowed 11 before 10 hour break, but you have 16 1/2 So yes, your over. You'll be lucky if you aren't awarded that new $2500 ticket for an egregious violation.Last edited: Oct 9, 2013
Leftlane101 Thanks this. -
Not to sound mean and I don't mean this to be harsh but as professional drivers we are responsible for knowing the rules and obeying them (not necessarily agreeing with them). You and the rest of us are going to have to be VERY vigilant in the coming days and check and double check and make sure we are within the law and know what the rules are.....The government and powers that be don't understand our jobs for the most part.....but with a few clicks on the computer can take your ability to earn a living from you and your family....it's not like the old days....sad to say, but they write laws THEY cant even understand or agree on how to enforce, but you are expected to obey them....crazy days ahead ladies and gentlemen.

You should have logged your 2 hr portion of your break before you logged over 11 hrs driving. I understand what you were trying to do but remember while you are allowed to calculate your new 11hr time/ 14 hr clock from the end of your 8 hr sleeper break, your time before the 8 hr break and in between the 8 and 2 hr break still can't exceed 11. Figure it this way, if you moved the 8 hour break to meet the two hour break to form the full 10 hrs, the time between your last break and the combined 8/2 (now a full 10) break shouldn't be more than 11 hrs on line 3.

You need to manage your time better......1/2 to fuel-never......20 min tops which pushes back to 15...... I see 3 hours in alexandria on duty not driving, hope you weren;t sitting in cab waiting to be loaded-reloaded. 15 min chq in, then to sleeper, 15 min to sign paperwork and close doors and on your way. If your ever at a customer for hours never use onduty if your sitting in the cab reading a book, only if your at the back counting or loading/unloading the freight. ....if your going to split your 10...get some software to guide you along with your paper sheets, makes life easier.
Sorry bud, but you over hours on that log.PackRatTDI Thanks this. -
I was thinking the same thing about time management.

So, when you are servicing the truck, checking the oil and fueling which can take more than 15 minutes and then walk into the building to pay and stand in the line which can take another 10 minutes, you are saying to enter a false log entry?lovesthedrive Thanks this.

Basically you didnt log a full 10 hours off. That made you run out of hours when you logged off for only 8 hours in the sleeper.
So go get a full 10 hours off and you will be good for another 14 hour day.
