They do an initial quick screening during the recruiting process. It's a first cut at weeding out the unqualified. If you survive that to get to orientation, the process goes much deeper. It's not that they're trying to screw people over, it's just a more efficient way to spend the dollars necessary to identify candidates that can be hired. Your part in it is to help the process along... as Es684 indicated (as all of us have in many threads) the best way to do that is to be painfully truthful about everything... do not assume something can be omitted. Your best insurance of making it through is to reveal everything.

Hey y'all,
I'm headed out to Springfield to start orientation next Tuesday, and lookin' forward to it. Though all of this talk about in-depth background checks is a bit nerve-racking. But I suppose it's something necessary on their end, and fortunately if you have nothing to hide then it shouldn't be a problem. Honesty is always the right way to go. -
