So that's it. After reading , researching, and asking people questions about the oil fields I'm off and going. I left last Tuesday and headed for the Midland/Odessa area. Had to stop in Salt Lake City for a few days and help a friend with a project and I got back on the road today. I stopped just short of Farmington NM. I think tomorrow I will stop in Roswell and play tourist. Who knows maybe I'll get abducted and end up on planet X.
I'm kinda rolling out there on a hope and a prayer. I've got my truck and my camper.... home sweet home. It beats the sleeper of the truck that's for sure but it's a bit small. I'll be living in it for a while to conserve on cash so its as good as is going to get for a while.
I've enjoyed reading other people's journies and have learned what I consider a lot so I figured I would start one too. Maybe to help others out and maybe just to pass some time while I'm away.
I'm really shooting to get on a frac crew or some sort of services, wire line, coil tubing, or completions. I would rather not drive truck any more but I will take whatever comes to start with.
I am looking forward to skipping a winter in La Pine. Lol . So if anyone has any helpful thoughts or suggestions feel free to pipe up cause I need all the help I can get. Thanks a million and wish me luck. I'll keep posting if anyone's interested in how it turns out down there. :Straight road::cya::headbang:

L.A. Pine the banana belt of Central Orygun. Good luck down there. I've got a couple of friends driving there and they say it ain't bad. I'm hauling into Gilcrest from Fall River till the USFS shuts down cause of the Gov. Looks like I'll be moving on and haul hay locally. It's a tough gig around here to keep a job or get one. Back to the Pipelines next Spring. Run it cool.

Your from La Pine? I love La Pine. I used to drive up 97 all the time when i was otr and on my way to walmart in WA. I always stayed at the truckstop there. They are so helpful when your truck freezes up or gets snowed in. And the restaurant there has yummy french fries. I miss La Pine. Used to live in grants pass oregon. Now i live up here in siberia....lol. Watford City, ND wishing and thinking about heading south to Oklahoma or Texas. ND winters are too harsh for a female waterhauler imo especially if u drive at night.

Good luck, if Midland doesn't pan out look at Western OK and the Texas panhandle before you head back to the Northwest.

For the most part Central Oregon is a bust I have no intention on going back there for work. Plus I grew up there and have had enough of Oregon. After trucking the country a few times there is some really nice places out there. And if anyone wants to know. ..Roswell isn't that special! Heck I was offered a job here but it was painting cars and I've had enough of that. But I could make some good money doing it if the patch seems to not work out. But I'm very determined and if there is a well there is a way. I am very outgoing and work hard and have always been able to find work so im pretty confident that is only a matter of time. ......I hope. Lol. Besides by the time I would admit defeat ill be outa money and stranded there any way. I've put it all on the line and failure is not an option. You and others have been very helpful with all the how too's and what nots and for that I thank you! This has to work out for me there really isn't another option. To fail I'll be homeless downn here so since I'm here I might as well find me a good job. Tomorrow I will be in Odessa and start ch3cking things out. I talked to a drill8ng company here today called Udi...I think it was and he said they were slow but made me feel pretty confident in having a clean cdl and bieng clean myself that finding work shouldn't be too difficult. Aliens are over rated.

Ya LaPine is a pretty place for sure. But it's full of retired people or tweekers, not much in between. I live out by the lakes so it's real nice if you have toys, the only thing I have to trailer is my boat everything else I can leave from home and go for miles before hitting pavement. Gordys is the truck stop there and there food used to be real good but its gotten to be not so anymore. I don't know what happened. If you ever get some extra time you should try fly f8shing fall river there is some real good fishing down there by the hatchery.
