    RULE 1

NEVER ALLOW LAW ENFORCEMENT TO SEARCH YOUR TRUCK WITHOUT A WARRANT!

You have the right to respectfully decline.

Only grey-area is during a DECLARED emergency...is there was a prison break, or something similar, they may be able to detain you and obtain a warrant.

Dont let threats of "obstruction of justice", "failure to comply" etc scare you, you will beat them in court and have a multi-million dollar lawsuit.

One driver told me he got out of 3 different "sleeper inspections" by telling the cop that he had AIDS and was just warning him that if he caught any disease from his truck he was not going to be liable. He went on to claim that in each case the cop decided he didn't really need to inspect the sleeper after all.

Illinois State Police have not commented on the action by the local PD.
Now, when they invoke homeland security, there is nothing we can do. They can knock until you are woke up. There is nothing you can do.

They went to all of the truckstops in Effingham and also the Walmart lot. It is not isolated to them alone. The manager said there was nothing he could do, it was homeland security.

Thanks for the reply, Flying J, we can see what you mean now. Problem is with Homeland Security here, people...they will get people KILLED as when I sleep and get woke up after an hour, or whatever, I can't sleep again! Therefore some drivers will get up, lie on log, roll and KILL someone. There are PLENTY of weigh stations where they can check OR they can simply pull the driver over somewhere while he is AWAKE. Drivers, time to take this up with Homeland Security and not the truck stops...it's up to YOU as our HOUSES will be next! NEVER give up freedom for security! If you all take this and do not write Homeland Security, or call them, you deserve to be woke up.

Um... hell... I'm sitting here trying to figure out a way to write this without looking like an extremist wacko, or appearing to be some sort of conspiracy-theorist. Ok, I might have some resemblance to the latter. :biggrin_25525:

But here, goes... I would no more bring up any concerns to the Dept. of Homeland Terrorists than I would cut my arm off with a butter knife. You'd probably end up on some kinda watch list. And shortly thereafter, they'd show up and pull a Ruby Ridge on your ***.

I don't trust any government agency that doesn't have to follow the constitution or the same rules as the rest of us. Those in authority are getting out of hand in this country.

Complain to the media... they love a story that involves terrorists and guns.

This kinda stuff makes me wonder about the people in power in this country. I wonder is there any kinda "homeland security" ID or badge or can any joe blow LEO yell out homeland security and we as citizens lose all our constitutional rights? I mean really this is just ridiculous:biggrin_25516:

That is why, all of my posts on this subject refer to Homeland Security. I had already heard of the position of the flying j. I also knew about the other areas being hit also.

The problem here, is that HOMELAND SECURITY is out of line.

:biggrin_255: That is hilarious! I've actually never been in that situation but I may have to try that if I'm ever in a pinch...

This may be relevant to this story; I've always had the impression that when on unfamiliar ground within the realm of the law, truck drivers can get support from a U.S. Marshal when needed. Is that true?

Who do you think might win in a tussle between Homeland sec and a U.S. Marshal? Or, are they now one in the same...?
