I think it depends on where you are. I thought the TA showers were the worst I've seen as far as cleanliness. I've never had an issue at Pilot and (at least the ones I've been to) they give you a disposable floor mat to stand on (though I would recommend shower shoes for any of them). I've never been in a Pilot or Love's shower that was dirty and everytime I go to TA it's disgusting, wet from the last shower, and no fan.
Are Truck Stop Showers Safe for Women??

And to the original poster... everything Native Dancer said is right on the money. Running a team truck is not a vacation--you'll be lucky to shower once a day. -
The major truck stops are fine and safe. Have never seen a problem....you'll be fine........

There's a few youtube videos about this subject. Look up happycabbie and his "tour of a truckstop shower" video. Nice guy that seems to be a former trucker turned ballon animator. (Like I could make that up?) :smt046

Of course, unlike you, most people on here have no problem offering the benefit of their knowledge and experience without being rude, self-satisfied, and stupidly sarcastic about it.
As to the rest of the responses....thanks for all the tips. I appreciate it. -
As you said... chill... ask your questions and you will get answers. -
Sorry about the computer Barcode. the doctor gave me some pills that are supposed to make me quit doing that but all they do is make me feel funny every 28 days and I'm a he. -
Well I think it did come across as "how dareth you ask such a silly question, because you asked it, and now I have to answer it with what limited knowledge I have personally of driving teams" And then to ASSume from one question and one reply that one isn't cut out for the industry is really pathetic. Especially from one who KNOWS the industry from what they personally see with their freinds who are in the industry.
The FACT is that the teams that are in there to run run run run like they ate bad chinese...yeah, they aren't going to stop at hotels or likewise. However, other teams DO stop at a hotel a few times each month to treat themselve, in this case its usually the married couples. Even if its just for a 8-10 hour stop just to shower up, relax, watch some bad pay per view order Dominos, and get a Good nights sleep. Some actually do that.
Not all companies that run teams push their drivers that hard timewise, because if bad weather intervened, youd be fubard. Lots of companies give you 100 hours to get somewhere that takes 50 hours or whatever. A team that is well prepared and does things right can easily treat themselves to a hotel once a week or two. -
Being the cynical old school geezer/dinosaur that I am, I found Native Dancers comments to be right on the money. If her skin is that thin shes going to be po'd 23 hrs a day once she gets in a truck and starts dealing with dispatchers, shippers, receivers, and all the wannabe stunt car drivers out there in 4 wheelers.
