Ok last update for this thread...We no longer work for Combined. There are many reasons...changes that we didnt care for, and people in dispatch we could no longer stand to work with. All in all Combined is not too bad for the HH side. BUT beware you are paid your per diem so you CANNOT take the tax break and you do not make the money you think you are making. Hometime sucks even if you do TRY to get home every 90 days...it is still hard.
Bo and I are living in East TX and he has taken a job with Heniff Transportation. He is the shop foreman of the Nederland shop. So he is home every night and enjoying what he is doing. He has always been a mechanic first and only went to driving cause of the constant lay offs of the Heavy Equipment Mechanics. Working on the trucks is much easier on him and I have to admit being home is not too bad. I still have my certs and all so I could still escort trucks if I get the itch to go venture out...but I dont see that happening at least till SPRING!!
So there ya go...almost 2 years and lots of fun, ups and downs, LOTS of learning experiences for me and a new found respect for those huge loads and the men and women who move them!!cowboy tmc, vikingswen and Sleepy68 Thank this. -
Good to hear you guys are doing well and all the best with the new adventure.
tootie04 Thanks this. -
tootie04 and Bo,
I was wondering what happened to you. I looked ya'll up and it has been awhile since you were on here. It was a pleasure following your adventures and Thank you for giving your advice when asked. It's a shame when a compnay treats their drivers badly when the driver treats the company good.
Good luck in your next adventures. Once again Thank you for doing what you did out there.tootie04 Thanks this.
