I worked for this carrier for 1 month, they lied about pay rate on loads and cut the percentage, keep new drivers waiting for lower paying loads in favor of senior drivers, give you days off telling you no work is available on your scheduled day because senior drivers haven't made their rates yet and try to change your work schedule to suit their needs and get more loads for less money out of you, stay away, don't do it.

That's what it sounds like, I'm returning to a company I left a year a 1 month ago, I now must start over, I'm now at the bottom of the totem poll, seniority drivers get better loads than drivers with less time with company, If I was with a company for many years and fond they gave a guy with 1 month the better paying load, I'd be pissed

There are more things to consider then just "seniority". If a company is going to pass around the garbage loads then they should pass around the gravy loads also. I am not saying to give lower guys all the good loads, but don't hand them all the garbage either. What incentive do guys have to stay with a company if all they haul is low paying stuff?

I worked for this company, they paid by the load, lied about them and cut the pay rates on them, what you don't know won't hurt them, ask you to call when you get to the terminal for gallons on your next load but keep you waiting claiming they can't get through to the customer, what they really want is to put more payload on the truck and you don't get paid wait time, do yourself a favor and call the customer yourself, they'll become furious and change the load immediately, again what you don't know won't hurt them, lie to you about available loads, they'll send you through hours of traffic for a the lowest paying loads to keep others happy and then tell you it doesn't matter what time you finish as long as the work gets done or they'll hire you to do a specific set of stops only and not disclose this because it's lot's of hours and little pay, remember the longer you take the less you make, they give you your scheduled work days off telling you there's no loads available to keep others happy and earning more and try to force you to work other days with less coverage to cover more loads, stay away, don't do it.

I have worked for this carrier for a long time now, as well as a lot of other great and commited drivers. And like most companies drivers have also come and gone, thinking the grass was greener on the other side but have come back again. But if abenaqui carriers was so bad why were they the number 1 carrier for both exxonmobil and shell oil delivering to over 500 stations before they got out of the transportation business. And sold there locations to distributors. And i also have to say what you are implying here makes no sense what so ever. In order for them to be able to do cut percentage rates and play games with lower pay for new drivers and higher paying loads for senior drivers. And switching your schedule to meet there needs, well sorry bud, that is the nature of the beast at times! So grow up and deal with it. But having you do more loads for less money makes no sense when the have equipment payments, and payroll, plus you forget that or neglect to mention that every driver runs a on board computer. And that controls there hours of service. And no one can change what it does! They run very legal!!! And more than usually drivers book off unexpectedly then not. But as far as payroll they would have to employee an army of people just in the payroll department alone to do what your implying here. And dispatch, does not know what the frieght rates are for each load. To try insure fairness in their dispatch. The only way dispatch knows what is going on with what pays what would be through the drivers. Now i have to say your either a driver that did not do his paperwork correctly and fill out his delay as you were trained to do, and/or communicate any of your delay when it was happening so you and the company can get paid for it. Another reason of your negative thread is you dont understand the business and you think u do. Or finally, sad to say things did not work out, but you were let go for poor performance and your just making trouble for the rest of commited drivers. I think you just could not deal with it and you might have been a bad apple with a poor attitude that never will be happy, but wants to make troble for the rest of us hidding behind a computer screen.

Look here i believe your the same driver as derailed! Anyways! Yes they pay percentage of the load. But i quarantee this abenaqui carriers is above board and they do not play with the driver rates. Further more they have an open policy. Meaning if you the driver have a question regarding frieght rates or what is billed, they want to know. There feeling is maybe it was billed wrong and lets get it fixed for everyone involved. I have been employed at Abenaqui Carriers/ P.S. Marsten Inc/ Marco Petroleum for a long time (8+ years). And they have always been very up front and honest with us drivers. Especially through this hard economy. But with regards to your posting. Of course they want more payload, thats how abenaqui gets paid, by the gallon. But they have us load legal loads that are hauled. Another thing, the reason you call from the terminal is to many drivers were loading the wrong product or gallons, and sometimes under the wrong account. Which then cost the abenaqui thousands of dollars. So to fix that, the abnaqui said to its drivers they need to call before loading to confirm the information. Plus if at all possible dispatch will verify that the loads will fit. You do get paid delay if you document all your delay with complete reasons and time. And what company could you work for, that would allow you to call there customers directly. Another thing, abenaqui does not actually route the trucks. You the driver actually route yourself, so then maybe you routed yourself through the heavy traffic. Regarding long hours hours, not sure how that is. Since abenaqui carriers runs on board computers that keeps track of the drivers hours of service. So why would they want run the driver in violation and potential put the driver. And abenaqui has been verify flexible with the drivers when it comes to personal reasons and availability. And they dont really preasure you to work, but they expect you to be here. And they are right. They might start u out with specific stops to begin with as a new driver. But they will move you to over customers as you progess along and demonstrate your ability. You seem to be a driver thats either disfunctional and not understand the petroleum industry, maybe work as a rogue driver and not follow rules. Or sad to say was fired or let go and you are disgruntal so you making it worst for the rest of us who like working here and enjoy the company. And i find it interesting that looking into your past abenaqui was the only bad place you ever worked! Strange! One last thing, if a person wants to make a good pay check here, most of us in the petrol. Industry understand and here at abenaqui know work the weekends 3-4 shifts, days or nights throught out the weekend. For example; (thurs-sun) or (fri-sun) or (fri-mon), and again days or nights. It is proven time and again, depending upon how many shifts you work per weekend, that a driver can make up too $800-$1200 +/- a week and again yes its working the weekends. But many drivers start out saying yes then they suddenly want a change and thats were it is tough. And abenaqui even hires part timers as well. But they very run legal, even through the hos exemption. Abenaqui worked to what they exemption allowed and only allowed for the last 2 months.
