Midwest fleet is a lot different though. I barely ever use up my 70. Half of the loads, are over lapping with eachother, so youre usually late to your pickup. Or if its McCain or americold load. youre usually late to your delivery, since its just another americold. So the DM knows this, and just puts it in that youre on time. Its definently different then running all 48, or a regular dedicated.

Everything you're saying here is right, but from the full content of buckeye's post I'm guessing the 2 was part of an 8/2 split, so it wouldn't delay the load.Buckeye91 Thanks this.

Folks come and go... If this thread fades, another will take its place... But it's been going in one form or another since I've been on TTR.Arkansas Frost and Buckeye91 Thank this.

yupp thats why it was a 2 hr break, and not just an hr. took the 2 break, then only took 8 in the sb that night. same as a 10.
but dont tell koni this, i dont know how to trip plan =p -
It has gone in at least 3 threads since I got on here the first time. And that one was an old thread then.
I don't like to use the 8/2 splits any more than necessary. Too many DOT officers get confused. And it only takes one line not scanning into their program correctly on a paper log to throw it into a violation.
I know that you are on e-logs. But it can still be a pain. Though I am guessing that yours are the qualcom ones, that are much better than the people net that we use. Ours kind of suck trying to keep track of things.
I hope that dispatch is not giving you a violation when you are late delivering loads. That would suck. I have not had a late delivery on a load that was my fault since I came back on the road with Central close to 7 years ago. If I could not deliver the load on time I would send a message refusing it. At that point dispatch would get me a different load, or they would change the times on it. Before I was ever dispatched on it.
And I would never commit to a load before I was sure that I could deliver it ontime. If anything happens after that point to change things, dispatch knew about 1 minute after I knew. So they could plan for it, relaying the load, or changing the delivery appt.
I don't deal with food or grocery as much now, though I actually am back to doing some again, since all that I bring out of Florida is water and sugar. But allot of that is drop and hook also. Then almost all drop and hook on my deliverys into Florida. -
LOL... Yeah, we had her for a while... Loved the fleet... Light loads out... But the back hauls and the lack of coordination and leaving us out to dry on a 4 drop load with NO apps scheduled then she went home for the weekend... THAT is what made us leave that fleet, and we almost left Central all together!!

I'm thinking that this students first trainer may have dumped him because he knew more than his trainer! This guy is 58 years old and has 23 years of driving experience he just hasn't driven since 2007. He's good, not real sure why central is having him stay on a trainers truck for the full time. This is great for me but a real waste of time for him and central. Oh well I'll enjoy the good miles while they last.
Arkansas Frost Thanks this. -
Sleep with one eye open! What trainer in their right mind dumps a free trained team driver? There must be something more to this story-- something weird. That "student" is every trainers dream.

I drove one of the Petes a few months ago, my co-worker and I had to recover it, the driver was away on medical. I didn't much care for it, and she died on the freeway twice, and nearly left me stuck. We got her back to our yard, someone came and got her, and then we ended up bailing that truck out of a tow yard back in town, and now my co-worker has her. We call her grumpy. He hates she doesn't have any fender mirrors.
Oh Koni.... the gf and I got into her when she was planning Coors. That's one heck of a story if you ever want to hear it. Actually, it's probably in the old thread somewhere. I don't wonder if the reason Farmland is offering a $500 sign on bonus is because people can't stand her. -
I've been on the forum 6.5 years, and there's been a Central thread going full steam here in one form or another as long as I've been here. Some weeks are just busier than others, and sometimes people forget to check in. I know I do.
