That'll stop in a few weeks. For your first month or so, they're gonna push you like crazy to see what you're capable of and to see if they can break you :)

Once you get past their version of "newbie hazing" you'll be good. But keep in mind that Tyson never gives a rats ### about our schedule. They are a nightmare to deal with. I've waited 37 hours to get loaded at Tyson before. Don't bother getting in a hurry when they're involved lol.

With all due respect, I have never bought into the notion of newbie hazing. I hear that a lot, but I have never found it to be true. Sewerman never bought into it either. I guess I was just lucky.......but remember....perception is reality!

Welcome to all of the new guys! I have not kept this as current lately as I would like, but I will try to do better in the future!
I loaded out of Nucor in Armorel Ar on Friday. I am delivery this evening at 2355....this is not a misprint...2355. So this week will be a strange one unless I can do some shifting here or there....Since my wife has a piano lesson, she teaches....I will be at the truck at 1600 and just start on up in that direction. It is 241 miles away....so I will have a nice relaxing drive. I just hate starting the day tomorrow so late because it has the potential to have to drive late into the night when parking is an issue.....but I did get home and spent some quality time....stained my porch and then shot a deer which I then butchered and had for dinner last night...so in reality....all is good!

Well I have officially turned in my 2 week notice at my current employer. Maverick recruiter sounded slightly disappointed that I couldn't get it done sooner. It wasn't a decision to make on a whim when it affects my family. It took discussion with my wife and my kids to be certain the decision was the right one at this moment in our lives. Honestly, I don't think any decision can be considered right. It's gonna be up to me to make it a positive and successful career with Maverick. Then and only then will I be able to say I made the right decision. It's all up to me maintaining a great attitude no matter how things may seem at times. That means being around other drivers that are positive and supportive. It means I must avoid all the negative comments an posts from affecting my outcome and success. So now it looks like the first weekend of November I will be heading to NLR for orientation, securement training, and then out with a driver trainer. Excited and nervous all at the same time. But I have researched for over a year through all of the posts and driving from Memphis to the NLR post office every week passing Maverick, waiting for this day to come. Hope I can become one of the Maverick team members soon! And a great driver trainer from my area would be outstanding! Thanks for all the input everyone has posted, good or bad. Have a great day!
