135 is a good road...in fact locally its called the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway. Also Merrick Road is a local truck route from Seaford to Massapequa. One thing to be aware of is that the train is elevated in that area and just north of 27. A lot of the roads that pass under are not 13'6”...

 

Its beyond me why ppl wants to live in an overpopulated city.You're stuck on the GW for a good 2 hrs.Have to leave extra early just to make it to work on time.Then coming home,lordy that's worse then morning rush hr.

 

Better start planning where you're going to take your 10 brk.Those 3 stops will take all day unless you get up and in NYC area before say 4 am.

 

unfortunately they do collect both ways on the throgs neck. pay close attention coming up to it going south on the clearview, it's tough sometimes to figure out what ezpass lane to be in for trucks.

don't be put off by pattyj, depending on your stops you could be heading out by 12.

 

U r probably there already so mute point--but really depends on where u start--& since YOU mentioned 678 im guessing ur coming from the south so 278 495 678 would be ur best legal way to 27 considering Where ur 1st drop Freeport ACTUALLY is--not how I would do it But my way is restricted although most do it anyway not gonna open the NYC can o worms--since most NYC posts here r from people who have been there couple o times and had problems--be happy to help if u wanna pm me

Unless you enjoy the view from the GWB, get across it before or as near to 0400 as possible. Hope they're early morning stops. If you're lucky you can get off the island before 1400 and find a place to park.

 

I agree with Kandahar 8891: hit it right on da nail I am from Long Island. That's the route I would take 495 east/231 south drop u rite in Babylon. Besides Sunrise has way 2 many lights..
