What is the most extreme type of trucking

One that utilizes blind drivers...

 

Explosives I guess or radioactive etc. Gasoline , acid etc Plutonium I would imagine. Anything of high dollar value that someone can target you and high jack you. I don't really know the most dangerous. Any kind of trucking is potentially dangerous with all the idiots around you

Nuclear weapons. You will be escorted by very heavily armed cowboys with more communication equipment than you could imagine... and yes, they are moved by civilian drivers when going across country.

I never saw a rookie driver doing it though. I used to check-in their weapons and lock them (their weapons, that is) up in the armory when they arrived at the nuclear weapons facility that I did a shore stint on in the Navy. The drivers were always very old school looking, cowboy hat, western shirt, boots, and a big friendly smile.

 

Wow I can tell there isn't much age on this thread yet. The most extreme trucking and most dangerous loads you rarely see now days. And that was a load of hanging meat. TNT? nuclear weapons? And gasoline down have anything on a load of hanging meat aka swingin beef. You can roll an improperly loaded load of swinging beef in 2nd gear going around a corner. You don't see much of it anymore though its around but rarely due to the danger factor. You had to know how to handle a rig to haul that.

 

I remember when I was a kid, and my dad would tell me how he hauled TNT. He basically hauled everything that could be hauled. That was back when TNT was dangerous. I like C4 myself but that stuff is clay, or playdo....lol

 

Stick haulin' in the mountains.

 

It was VERY extreme back before Electronic Logs,many driver were running falsified log books with no sleep,very dangerous to the general public.
Trucking companies were out of control back in the day.
