Send just 1 ECM to Rebel and you will be amazed. You won't be able to get the other 2 to him fast enough. Service after the sale is amazing too.

PP Mufflers (.25-.5 mpg)
Micro blue Bareings (.25-.5 mpg)
Supper singles (when you need to replace, michilan has huge rebates on the cost of the new rims)(.5 mpg)
Low RR steers
PP manifold (.25-.5 mpg)
Air tabs (not measurable mpg, but better handling and visibility in winds and rain. Maybe small mpg gain.)
Truck side skirts (.5 mpg)
FASS system (.25-.5 mpg) -
Yes. 5.5 at that speed with an open deck trailer is about right.
You've already proved that 1 MPH = .1 MPG. You slowed down 3 and gained. .3. There's more gain available if you slow down. But now we're getting into winter and fuel economy will suffer even more.
Cummins says that an open trailer with irregular loads can cost 10-30% fuel economy vs a van and I fully believe that from what I've experienced.
FWIW, our fleet's IFTA last quarter was 5.88 pulling flats and steps west/ east. I did 6.92 in that time, but the load I'm on currently, I'm struggling to get 5. Lots of wind and very "irregular".Last edited: Oct 17, 2013

Um No, but thats what each is listed at on their sites. Once my singles and new steers broke in i did gain a solid .75. the rest probably will get you another .75-1 in real world.

Seems like a lot of money to spend on the hope of better fuel mileage. I'm more a fan of putting a well trained eye on what he has to see if it maybe has a couple small issues that would help a little. A member has posted several times that he has spent 10G on his day cab trying for better mileage and thus far it has more power but no better economy. I'm not calling BS but I need to see documented proof.

you all forgot to mention synthetic oils in engine and gear boxes.
and maybe even hubcaps. to which i'm thinking of looking into. -
Rotating supper singles?

Two days ago you stated ^^^here ^^^ that you "just got" these tires. But on this thread you speak of gaining .75 MPG once your tires broke in. I've heard 30- 50,000 miles is when tires break in. I have no idea if that's accurate, but are you suggesting that you realized .75 mpg gain in a few short days?
I think I can speak for most people here in saying, we want documentation. -
It was in combination with capping off that oily black hose. That got him an extra .5mpg. The tires he was eating for dinner gained another .25mpg for a .75mpg total gain. Physics bro.

It's been documented many times, SS with the correct tire (X One Energy D's) will gain .5 MPG, and weight 400 lbs less. If your running 120 k miles a year, they will pay for themselves in about a year, second year they pay you.
I can tell you from my own experience the FASS system will gain about .2 to .3 MPG, and about 30-40 hp, will cost about $1000 in parts depending on truck, around $1800 installed.
I can here it coming already! "Oh my, cost too much" You will save about $1000 per tenth of an MPG gained per year. Plus it cleans the fuel better reducing wear on your engine.
Slowing down is the easiest way to save $. I drive between 60 and 65 depending on schedule, terrain, load etc. The scan gauge is second in bang for buck. $200 bucks and if used right could save you near .5 mpg's.Last edited: Oct 18, 2013
