I mentioned them because they are out of Indiana. I have never worked for them. My wife and I drive team also. We are owner operators with Landstar. There are alot of good jobs for teams out there but the key to getting them is getting that 2 years of experience that will open doors. This means that you will have to start off with a bottom feeder company first until you get those 2 years in.
As far as using the good/bad company threads in deciding on a company......Everyone is different and everyone will see a company they work for differently. I think most of the bad company threads come from people who have either been fired or quit because the job wasn't as advertised. The truth is plain and simple that these mega carriers are gonna treat you like crap because they know that you are just warming the seat till you can find a better job. If they would think on this.....They would make their company the "Better" job and not have so much turn over.

Thought i was Clear that it is not possible unless they are only driving half days per student which will take longer to get trained.
And where do 3 sleep in 1 truck i guess one sleeps in the front which is not legal either. But whatever floats your boat.

Emailed the BMV in Indiana and they say my wife will have to get her Indiana drivers license and have them one year before she can get a CDL license in Indiana. She is from the Philippines and we have been living here in Korea for 8 years so she never needed a Indiana license. She has a Philippine, Korean and International License. Seems strange she has to wait one year. So I guess I will plan on trying to get my CDL and train and go solo and take her with me for a year as soon as we move back to the states.
Now I am just looking for companies that will hire me and train until I go solo.
As soon as I find something that works then I will probably plan on quitting my job over here and go to driving.
Thanks for all the input . -
Schneider trains husband & wife teams in the same truck. At night, the trainer gets a hotel room while the husband & wife team sleeps in the truck.
Their training consist of one week at the terminal then the second week is with the trainer on the road.
After that, OTR baby !
Read about the experience a husband & wife had at Covenant. It was hell.
Besides, those guys own SRT. They had a driver die in the truck then precided to demand money for his body & belongings. -
Wow pretty short training period. She wont be ready to train until after one year after she gets her Indiana drivers license. Maybe I will go first. Do you know what Schneider's qualifications are. Seems like I heard they don't have APU's.

The Covenant/SRT story has another side. A lot of misinformation there.

By any chance fill us in?

My husband and I trained almost 6 years ago in the same truck with a trainer. It was a long 7 weeks let me tell you! Our Trainer would get a hotel room at night although there was a few times he couldn't get a room or we got shut down due to snow. I would suggest not doing this in the winter (the hands on winter training was a plus though) for this reason, luckily my husband and I can fit comfortably in the twin bed.
Don't listen to all the people that say negative things about marriages and trucking. We have been together 13 years, with 6 of it being in the truck and its been the BEST 6 years! And thats saying a lot because the previous 7 were pretty wonderful too!
When your stuck in a tiny walk in closet with your spouse, while working, you learn (hopefully) the massive importance of effective communication and watching your tone. And you master (hopefully) being able to say You're Sorry when you're a complete #######, because let's face it, it's going to happen when your living this difficult lifestyle.fireba11, NoCoCraig and Sparky1972 Thank this. -
What is the Covenant / SRT story ? And what is SRT ? I had heard Covenant was a pretty good company, but I have checked on so many lately that I need to check it again. With my wife having to wait a year to drive puts a bind in what I thought our income would be with both of us driving. I make pretty good money here in Korea and I thought quitting here and with both of us working would balance things out a little better. So now need to think things out and find the best company I can for new drivers with no experience.
Having a trainer die in the truck must have been a strange thing to happen. I have not heard of this story. -
Here is the thread about SRT. They are owned by Covenant

Read also this from TransportHer. She and her husband trained with Covenant. Shady company.
