there is also a ambest in utah(cant rem the exit) that does the same thing I was shocked but happy. I find that outside of Texas Kansas has some really good steaks. Iowa is NOT one of them.

Newells has always been good. I think the kids have taken over but dad taught them well. I saw the old man training one of his new fuel attendants, and he showed him the showers, wash bay, restaurant, everything! HE wanted this new kid to realize service was everything. The food is extreme top quality and the waitress's in the trucker section go above and beyond. If you ever complain you can bet someone is going to get fired. Back in the 80's, I was trying to cash a check at the fuel, and there was some problem. The old man was standing there and said he would take me to a local bank or loan me his car to go get money. Service didn't change after the kids took over. Caution: the locals mob the place on the weekend but drivers always get prefered seating in either retuarant.

I think they built that place when I first started driving in the early 90's and it was AWESOME! They had the best food and the best showers... best everything, hands down, of any truckstop in the lower 48 back then. Only one other place sticks out in my mind as being pretty good and that one's probably gone to the dogs too--the Buckeye Travel Plaza in North Baltimore, OH. -
Pilots are the worst. Never any parking and everything is so crammed. I only stop at a pilot if there is NOTHING else. We have one here in Denver and you can only fit maybe 20 trucks. And its not like there is much room to maneuver. They are all poorly planned. There is a Modern Marvels show on the history channel that goes over how TA designs there TS. TA, Petros, are usally pretty easy to get in and out of and you can usally find a spot.
You would think these big oil companies would buy more land. If I was doing I would by a good 200 acres. 1000.00 bucks an acre, that is only 200k which you would make up in your first year. According to modern marvels the annual revenue for a truck stop is 7.8 million. I think they can afford to build bigger and better places. THat is just my humble opinion -
sonds like a great place

You could try the Bosie Stage Stop? its about 22 miles east of Bosie Id. Last time in there it was a great place. The Garden of Eden the other side of twin falls Id is also a good little truck stop if you get out on the "good side"

I haven't been to the stage stop since I was like 12yo with my dad. We used to stop all the time. I have one of the cheesy 80's shiney black jackets with there emblem in gold all over the back. still have it somewhere. I was out there about 8 months ago but I missed the exit for it so I didn't get to stop.

Smiths Grove BP is a very nice fuel stop. When I stopped there for the first time, I was astonished to see a fuel attendant fuel my truck! Then the complimentary tractor wash floored me. The ladies' shower was a little dated, but better than a lot I have seen. The restaurant was clean, food good, and plentiful.
