I have my CDL A with all endorsements and really dont have the proper training. Is there a company that would talk to me? If I went to a school would I have to go through the full course since I have my CDL? I have been trying to find out about some of the small companies out there. If someone would give me a list to check out and maybe some smaller companies that I havent heard of , id appreciate it. thanks.

Not too many "smaller" companies offer an apprentice program (training program) I guess it depends on what you call small.

How did you get your cdl?
Bootleg training?
School? -
I went to a trucking school its been over two years since been in a truck.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
If you went to a trucking school then you should just have to take a refresher course. Just talk to some companies and ask what they would require. As for small companies what size are you talking about, where do you want to run and what part of the country do you live in?

if you don't have any experience the only way your gonna get a job with small companies some require at least min 6 months within 2 years. you may have to pick a starter company just to get your experience so u can get a job with smaller company. I work for star transport out of Morton il, or you can try star transportation in Nashville, tn each of these are smaller companies you need to get some experience first and for most you might luck out -
Paschall Truck Lines will probably hire you. Decent dry van company & trucks have APU's.
Ozark Motor Lines may have a refresher/training program. It's also a decent dry van company.
Maverick will probably hire you if you're in a hiring area for one of their divisions. -
Does they hire a fresh graduate without any job experience?
