I have a 2006 columbia when I'm going down the road with the cruise set after a while the engine will shut off the voltage gauge goes to zero mph and rpm also if I let it coast sometimes it will restart if I pull over it will turn over but will not start I notice that the check engine light and shut down lights are not on at this time after a while they will appear and the engine will start has anyone had this problem or know of the cause?

And if you were to never use the cruise, it wouldn't shut off and you wouldn't know there was even a problem?

Sounds like ECM voltage. Check the fuses AND holders as well as all terminations from the batteries to the ECM for loose or corroded spots.
-
Have you tried shutting off the power completely via the switch on the floorboard? It can usually be used as a temporary fix, but there is definitely an underlying cause.

Can you get it to restart with the shutdown override switch?

Ecm problem

Since you said the check engine light is not on and it will crank but not start then after the check engine light comes on it will start I would check the ECM wiring harness, the ECM fuse in the battery box and other associated wiring for a loose connection or possibly corroded connection. The check engine light will not light up if the ECM is not getting power, it should cycle on and off with the key during boot up as a bulb check and to indicate that the ECM is getting power.

X2 with checking the connections and fuse holder inside the battery box. Has there been any work recently done to the engine? There could be a bolt or rock stuck between the engine and the ecm, causing the ecm to short out. You can also check the connections at the rear connector on the ecm. Another place to look is about 1 foot from that connector, where the harness bends. Those wires like to chaffe.

Also check all your grounds on the truck

Sounds like the Winshield Wipers. This has caused me alot of issues with the ECM Turbo Gletemo Etna Vershilinder..You may want to check this too..
