Just wondering if anyone who plays in the mud or Icey infields are using autoshift like the ishift or ultrashift. I would imagine they suck when starting on ice cause you can't rock but I wouldn't really know.

I haul super b 95% highway 5% hell Wabasca roads and have considered spec'ing the New Truck With a auto.

Any input would be appreciated, experiences etc.

I did one winter years ago hauling vans on asphalt with super single drives and an auto tranny. Never again, ever, under any circumstances would I do that again. I can't imagine off road would be better, only worse. I hauled sticks years ago with manual tranny and manual lock ups (all). I had as many as 6 levers beside my seat and knew them all by heart and feel.

I know of a few, very few crude haulers using an Eaton autoshift and they arnt having alotta luck with em due to excessive vibration etc. Why would you want to spec a new truck with an autoshift? I think that lowers the resale value alot...

The automatics get better fuel mileage and would be just kind of nice to have, when I'm using 625 litres of diesel a day, any bit will help. In the summer I figure it would be nice to just set the cruise and let it do its thung.
