I got my CDL in May, 2013 from a 4-wk driving school in Tx. I went to work for Werner Ent. in June as a student and rode with a trainer. In July I had 2 minor preventable incidents and Werner let me go in October. Now I am having a very hard time finding a company that will hire me to continue my training. Am I doomed as a driver already? The incidents were so minor and my trainer or instructors in school never said anything about this situation. Can anyone suggest what I should do? Are there any companies that will hire me?

How minor how much damage did u do?

Something doesn't seem right tying these "minor" preventables that occurred in July, to getting let go in October. Is there anything else to the story?
Big Don and Truckergirl0720 Thank this. -
dkpat, it would be helpful to know the details of each incident.
If you are trying to get on with another carrier that subscribes to CSA, then Werner has likely notified CSA of the incidents and reason for your termination. You will need to try and hire on with a smaller company that doesn't subscribe to CSA and you will need to be honest with them about what happened and what you learned from the experiences. -
The incidents were: July 30 in IA. made left turn too short; left tandem ran over concrete median and flattened reflector sign. Police notified no citation.
Aug 6 in IND. going to truck stop off I-65. Attempted left turn onto 2-land road with semi at signal light perpendicular to me. Going extremely slow left side of my trailer kissed his left headlight lens. Only light fiberglass scratch on lens. Police notified no citation.baha Thanks this. -
dkpat, you're SOL for awhile.Does'nt matter how minor they were the point is you had 2 accidents while in training. You need to start paying closer attention.

Seems like judging space needed and/or turning radius is the issue. If your school instructors didn't explain this factor, not sure what to say. Either way, I'm not one to judge or worry about things such as this that are beyond control....it's in the past so screw it. You may have to find a less than favorable company to drive for, just to build up your experience time. Remember, it's your CDL so protect it, it's your resume, control what's added to it! Good thing, noone was hurt in either accident, right? Pride can be repaired!

Where are you? There are companies that may take you just need to know where you are, Like stated, find a smaller company, swing those lefts a little wider, to much is good not enough is not good. Tell us where you are so someone may be able to help you. Good Luck.
