I make more selling sweatpants at truck stops than I do driving. Thinking of loading vending machines with sweatpants and putting them in truck stops around the country.

^^^ yep... I timed a trucker once from the moment he opened the door of his truck until he was able to get himself in the seat and shut the door.... two minutes, 15 seconds.... he was so fat he couldn't bend his knees and rock over sideways to barely get a foot up onto the step, then had to take panting breaks after each step.
Now I know why so many empty trailers I hook to aren't swept clean. There's NO WAY that dude was going to be able to climb into a trailer.Pmracing Thanks this. -
A few years back interstate distributing was sued over the firing of a driver. He couldn't buckle his seat belt , so they fired him. The court said he had to use an extender. ( ever fly? That short belt that the flight attendant uses to show you about your seat belt is used when oversized can't fasten their belt .. It extends the belt size) and interstate had to rehire him. Now everybody is ohh your fat chubby what ever.. Ever think it's not that persons mouth that is making him fat? Ever heard of hypothyroid? Google it. It is an often misdiagnosed and WILL cause for a weight problem. Sometimes a big weight problem.

I commiserate with folks with health conditions. However, I'll be willing to bet that most obesity issues today are the result of diet. I'm not talking about over eating, I'm talking about eating processed foods, especially foods with high fructose corn syrup. I started a thread in the health forum about HFCS with a link to a very informative video for anyone that cares to see it. The person that turned me onto the video was my nephew, a hero in my book, who lost over 160 lbs in one year by eliminating HFCS from his diet.
One of the biggest sources of HFCS is soda pop. It can be found in almost any processed food these days, even in the bread you buy. Look carefully at the contents of the food you buy, eliminate it, and weight loss will be MUCH easier.
After learning of my nephew's experience, watching the video, and doing a little more research on my own, I eliminated HFCS from my diet and easily lost the 25 lbs of hard to lose excess baggage I'd been carrying around for a few years.
Truck stop food isn't doing truckers any favors. -
Fructose is in just about everything that we eat.. Fructose is SUGAR. Fast food .. Ever watch supersize me? Diet drinks are just as bad as surgery drinks .. They both have carbohydrates. We need to make these truck stops put back in the restaurants and get rid of the fast food, and start serving food that doesn't have grease running out of it. But this will be read on deaf ears. The only truck stops that have good food are the old mom and pop. The chain truck stops will feed you the garbage. Maybe park in the truck stop and walk across the street to the local diner. If nothing else you will get a healthier meal. As to my posting before. With hypothyroid . I've lost over 25 lbs by just going on the meds in about 6 months. It takes time as they have to adjust the dosage to the person.
