Reitnouer is the top of the line, If u are purchasing used most will depend on what u can find and what you can afford.
1st u have to determine what freight u will be hauling, then look for the trailer that will accommodate that.
I want to buy a flatbed trailer, which brand is good, tks

Utility combo for me. 48x102 spread. Coil package. New 2013 $26k. 5 year warranty. 14 winches. Legal with 492000 coil. Don't forsee any problems as used for a year. 6years from now it will have a new owner.

Manac and BWS/Ez-to-Load are both tough tailers. Built for our market and we torture stuff up here. Our 53' BWS tridem regularly hauls 69,700lbs in the 28' from the step back. Its a 2007 and hasn't a crack anywhere in the neck yet. 68,000lb reel of cable on 6' 10"x10"s hardly touches the arch of the Manac.

I like east dad has a 45x96" spread axle that is rated for 80,000 just trailer wieght and hauling sod on it and a couple loads of brick and never loses arch. I won't hesitate if I get out of hopper to buy a new east trailer.

DO the same as the big flatbed companies, look to see what they are running and do the same.

Stay conservative with your first flatbed. No reason to spend 30k for a trailer only to realize you hate flatbedding.
You can buy a used Utility 48x102 spread combo for $10k all day long and it'll last forever with PM. -
This is pretty much always the case and good advice in my opinion. -
Find one rated 50000lbs per 4' in center with reenforced floor for big coils, and total dispersed rating of 80000lbs. It will never stress and fatigue with age. The East BST(not the plain East) is my choice that does the job well. I also like the new Fontaine Revolution, it has a beefy rubrail but am told it frays 4" straps. So I would use 3" straps with it.
These are all hard to find used. So, I guess you may be limited to what's widely available. Lots of cheap Transcraft and Utility combos out there. -
Look for a mid to late 90's reitnour Big Bubba PRE-ABS , put some bearings in it and go. Two boxes is real nice, make your own dunnage racks with some 5'' aluminum c-channel and keeper pins. Remember neat and stowed really does keep the goberment monkeys off your back, and make sure you sweep the deck and use 3/8 chain for heavens sake. OH and don't forget you will need a headache rack. You will not lose money on that trailer if you want to sell it in a year.

The one I bought about 1 1/2 year ago was a 98 Transcraft combo 48x96. Bought it for $9500.00 nothing I couldnt haul with it, put new brakes, chambers and air bags, worked it til now, just sold it for the same price to buy a new trailer. I was willing to make anything work and it did.
You still have to buy chains, binders, straps, tarps so keep that in mind
