I'm not sure what is is because I went in experienced so on the 2nd day of orientation I was given a truck and a load.

Edit: my trainee just got back to truck and he said it is just computer training and driving around the yard doing backing exercises. Same thing all week.

Perfect. I could use the backing practice. Honestly all my backing at school was in a day cab with a 47' so... Only backed the full 70' beast like 5-6 times.
    Thanks again.

You should get plenty with your trainer as well. I let my trainee practice at customers at night before we shutdown.

Another quick question for you, Flatbedn... during training are you running as a team the entire 4 weeks?
I realize these are questions I should have asked the recruiter but sometimes I forget when I'm on the phone with them. Plus seems I'm dealing with 3 now.

    Thanks.

No team but you can get 2500+ while training and you will do most the driving while your trainer sits in passenger seat.

I am seriously looking at Ozark myself: Other companies in consideration are de Boer (but those Automatic trucks are a deal killer!), RBX (good deal of Automatic trucks and frequent over night runs= deal killer!), followed by DHT, PAM and Arnold but Ozark is gaining my attention plus I would love to get into one of those shiny red Volvo's again.

I was told back in Aug during orientation by the end of next summer they will only have 2012 and newer Freightliners in the fleet and Freightliners is all they are going to get. Also if you don't like running nights you might want to reconsider coming to Ozark. You will run Fed Ex loads and the longer ones will have you coming out around 2330. I personally don't mind running nights. They do make the transition back to days easy though. I have been about 3 months and I kind of like here.

    Sojourn14 Thanks this.

Yep and I think I have run 1 FedEx a month for the last 4 months. Ozark is a pretty good company. I have looked at going back flatbed but the hometime here is unbeatable for an Otr company.

Yeah its a great company as long as you do your job. They have around 750 trucks so to me there better. More one on one time..
