Who's tried grabbing the air horn in their POV just to find there is nothing there?
Its even better when there are people in the car with you. -
Always have a back up plan.
Plan at least 2 options for your 10 hour. If you first choice doesn't pan out for what ever reason, not enough hours, construction, traffic, etc., you can then immediately switch to plan B without even thinking about it. -

I get in my wife's Accord....and keep checking the fender mirrors. Of which there aren't any.

I'm local so I drive my pickup home every day. Last week I had a longer than normal day and I was tired driving home. Going down the road in a zone/daze I look behind me and almost have a heart attack as I don't see my trailer. Of course it took a good 1/4 second to realize I was in my pickup. At least after that I was awake and alert till I got home.
