When I started driving truck my personal rig was a 78 Chevy, I kept reaching down and grabbing the headlight switch trying to start the truck with it.

Who's tried grabbing the air horn in their POV just to find there is nothing there?

Its even better when there are people in the car with you.

Always have a back up plan.

Plan at least 2 options for your 10 hour. If you first choice doesn't pan out for what ever reason, not enough hours, construction, traffic, etc., you can then immediately switch to plan B without even thinking about it.

I'm local so I drive my pickup home every day. Last week I had a longer than normal day and I was tired driving home. Going down the road in a zone/daze I look behind me and almost have a heart attack as I don't see my trailer. Of course it took a good 1/4 second to realize I was in my pickup. At least after that I was awake and alert till I got home.
