Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

The fasteners really doesn't matter, I understand these trucks are built for lightness but aluminum sheeting over a frame offers little rigidity in a crash, my gripe is not with American trucks but with the European owners of Many of them, they have the technology for better safety and driver comfort but like all big corporations they are greedy buggers, they chose profit over our safety and wellbeing, like I said before ; a few refinements us trucks with their superior layout would be unmatched, US has a far better layout while naziland had to engineer their way around all the problems associated with coe's , to me a truck is a tool, I've driven on both sides of the pond, I'd prefer to see a few euro ideas put into NA trucks rather than make NA trucks European , in Europe we can only wish to be able to spec a Volvo for instance with a 72" sleeper, it's a much better deal being a trucker in NA than in Europe anyday, I hate driving in Europe , I call it naziland, I like driving in Nordic countries cos those guys can actually drive and the police seem to leave you alone for the most part, southern Europe has the most spectacular terrain and views ( alot like the Rockies ) but is way over policed, digi tachos or elogs as ye are now starting to see means you have the driving habits of a robot,

I like the Scania Long Liner. The bed goes front to back on one side that's quite a feat in a COE. Does the floor drop behind the motor? What does it weigh?
It's so ugly that I'd love have to have one. Seriously.Scania man Thanks this. -
Haha yeah, always remind me of the predators head! The original had a step behind the doghouse but the r series ( which are special order ) are an almost flat floor cab anyways, weight ? I dont know but a normal topline 4 wheeler (2axle) is the best part of 19000 lbs
-
I meant aliens head, long slightly curved ugly thing but very functional lol
-
Is the R series the big one ? Massive cab. That truck can't even look good next to a Columbia. He he he. The only thing worse is the conventional version.
But, if it's a good hammer, I'll swing it. Function function function. -
Yup that's the one, r series, except for some of the 6cyl models... unbelievably bulletproof, very fuel efficient and comfortable, often let down by bunk design or the older 4 series interior cab design but if you're an owner driver lookin for a truck to last you 15 years or you're into heavy haulage etc you have to have a Scania v8, general haulage a Volvo will do , euro volvos are actually well screwed together, I found them very reliable, wiring can be bad but not as bad as on the vnl, they have by far the best auto box on the market, I had two of them, hand on heart the only work I done to them besides servicing was replace headlamp bulbs! Never towed a Scania or a Volvo off the road in over 15 years of operation, unless the were driven through the ditch of course -
If they can hit that weight with a tri axle and keep enough of it off the front wheels, that's a good weight for the NA market.
-
Exactly the reason why we can't have top lines in aus only high line too heavy on the steers, the high lines only just scrape through with a few modifications like moving battery's to behind the last axel and having no exhaust stacks and such, that v8 and steel cab are very heavy
-
The old outdated 6.5t rule really needs to be updated.
makes you wonder how an XXL cab Volvo with 1400L fuel gets through.........
