I get that all the time. Hit the rumble strip for a bit, see if it turns off. Sometimes there's a bit of moisture or a loose wire in the ABS system, and it lights up on you. Sometimes, it lights up, and there's no telltale on the trailer, because most of the time the answer to "fixing" the problem is to unplug the light. I don't know if that's because the ABS system is picky, or because it's just too time consuming to work on, but that seems to be the fix.

Dude, I remember when 559 trailers were all shiny and new, and drivers were always looking for them. It could be worse, we do have a few 538 trailers still hanging around, you could have one of those

Got home Friday. Truck went to the dealer to get worked on Monday. Its still in the shop, theyre saying it probably wont be done today neither. Im getting bored. I guess atleast im at home when this happened. My DM hasnt said much about it. Just said, call me when youre ready to go out.
I wonder if I can get layover for this lol. -
559 was the NEWEST! I hauled a few 543's in there too. I finally broke the streak today pulling a 20k lb load in a 571. Thats just sweet.

Anyone at crsco? I'm here doing an upgrade

I know I haven't been on here long & don't have years of experience, but I'm not entirely new to the trucking game either. Can't answer as to what Central would do about giving up a lease, but...My 2 cents would be to be very wary of any startup company, especially one that is a specialized operation like hauling cars. Remember, you're only going to be able to haul one type of freight, basically, rather than being diverse enough to have other options for a freight base like you can running reefer. You should also consider the capital they have to work with and the contacts they have to stay loaded in that particular segment. I have had friends & family in car hauling & from what I hear, it's pretty competitive. The rule I learned long ago & still live by is the grass may be greener on the other side, but what does it take to make grass greener? Just my 2 cents, which may not be actually worth a nickel! Best of luck to you, whatever you decide.

Hey, polarisryan, quick question about training for you, since you just went through it. I'm leaving for WVC Friday for my 2nd week. How long until you do skills test? My recruiter told me I'd be here at Memphis for 1 week, then 1 week in WVC but my instructor here says 2 weeks in WVC. Just curious what to really expect.
-
One week for skills stuff. then mon-wed for orientation. then its up to your trainer to see when he shows up.Coolhand_Luke Thanks this.

We did our pretrip and backing tests the Thursday of our second week, and our road test the next day.
On another note I was super stoked to get my trainer so fast-since we had a couple people that didn't even have a name lined up yet-but he is literally having me do things we were specifically to by safety and/or training, NOT to do-at least not the first week or two, that I simy don't feel comfortable doing yet. Really, really frustrating. -.- Maybe I'm just not cut out for trucking afterall...? Are all trainers just out there to run as hard as possibly right when a trainee is seated? Grrrrrrr. -
as as a trainer myself, I'll tell you no we are not all like that and yes you need to report him to training. BS like this is why our new drivers are basically steering wheel holders. You need to hold his nose to the stone on this and make sure you get a fair shake from your trainer. He should be training to prepare you for a career not just use you to fatten his wallet. I'm in Conley now with my student getting his upgrade done, there's 2 other students here that have both failed the written or computer part of the upgrade. There is no excuse for this and it usually means the trainer used them as a driver and they did not take time to teach them the most crucial part of the job. Safety, communication, communication, communication , trip planning and all the other small but very important parts of the job. Do yourself a favor and make your trainer teach you not just use you.polarisryan, Arkansas Frost and passion4polishing Thank this.
