I did research other posts before i started this thread,,just so you know
this is another felony record tryin to become a driver,,,brother drives/10yrs or so//dad retired from hunt//30yrs or so,,,,my felony convictions have pretty much shut me down from becoming a driver,,theft case,,,over 10k theft that is,if you have one of these on your record,,,forget it,dont waste the time at school, everyone likes to sugar coat it,,,hang it up,,,,this i found from experience.

Yep, I had a felony burglary back in 94. All the recruiters would say that it was no big deal since it was so long ago. However, when u get to the Investigations/Final part of a hiring, things change.

    BTW
All u have to do is enter, or be with someone, who enters an establishment and if a Felony occurs then u r allegedly committing burglary, trespassing etc. Like if your girlfriend takes mail/checkbooks that doesn't belong to her then later tries to use them.

Anyways, I'm getting my record expunged.

I've found that recruiters have a list of convictions that'll disqualify u. Before applying I'd advise calling first.

Was told by several expungment companies that felonies need to be at least five years old. Think that some aren't expungable like sex crimes, DWI, DWS, no DL etc. Also, no ongoing case since.

Anyways, good luck to anyone with felonies.

So the moral of it is for all of you young people thinking of going into the trucking industry be upstanding citizens and do not commit felonies.

Look at the companies point of veiw, if you stole once, what is to say you will not steal the freight?

I agree people that have made 'a' mistake should be given a second chance, however at the same time one cannot blame the company for wanting to protect their freight. Seems this is one of those issues that fall between what is and what should be. :biggrin_25511:
