I'm really worried about the medical myself. As I type this I am exactly 1 week out of my hernia repair surgery. My surgeon was not worried until he opened me up and found not the 1 hernia he was expecting but 5 of those buggers. Stupid 3 hour surgery turned into 7 hours. I lost my belly button as part of the repair. The surgeon will allow me to return to my desk job in 6 weeks but I want to make sure that nothing medical causes me to go home once I get there. I plan to work my best to make sure my health is as optimal as possible. I can understand frustration. We would already be there if not going over problems beforehand. My husband and I want to do this together as we are in our 40s and have no ties keeping us bound. I know one day we will.

Thats what I kind of figured. Do shippers usually give you a hard time about it?

Ok so I am looking into Prime. I do not have my CDL but I do have my CDL class A permit. I also have my DOT card that I received in September, so very recent...
1) Does it matter that I live in Texas? I know we are basically a different country over here lol.
2) I have previous speeding tickets that I had dismissed or I took defensive driving to get them off my record. Will I need to put these on the application?
3) I have an accident back in 2011 that wasn't my fault. ( I was clipped by a drunk in a stolen car) I should put that on there right?
4) So the process goes like this?
A) Week of orientation
a) get permits (if needed)
b) do physicals and medical stuff
c) Security shake down haha
d) "drive" similator
B) Get on instructors truck for 10K miles
C) Come back and test for CDL license
D) Get on Trainers truck for 30K miles ( also start getting paid during this time)
E) Come back, test out, then get your own truck (more than likely a lightweight truck)
5) What is a lightweight truck? Do you have a make and model for reference? like pete 387, freightliner cascadia, etc.
6) I am 6'6" 420lb, I have no sleep apnia <-- sorry I can't spell. My BMI is outrageous so will I have to take the sleeping test? All of the doctors that I have been to have said "you aren't really over weight". I think that is accredited to me being full blood German.
Sorry for the winded post and I thank all of you for posting your experiences.
Keep the shiny side up -
