Gas Prices: Who do they affect?

yes they affect company drivers,though most don't want to admit it. every dime that a company spends on fuel is a dime they can't spend on wages,new equiptment etc. so yes it affects them.

 

Yes fuel prices do effect company drivers...
I would not think it has nothing to do with raises a driver may get. (more like CEO bonuses and fancy corporate things would be effected.) may affect drivers with really small companies wages though.
Company may start to slack on maintenance for thier trucks to maintain profit.

Most company drivers could care less about the fuel prices, they just stop anywhere and fuel..

No idling laws are becoming more common (thanks to the weirdo's in Cali)
As one mentioned it is not okay to leave a pet in a car but it is okay to leave a human in it.

I would like to see law makers obied by the same conditions and not use air conditioning/heat at work or thier home.
Cops would also need to follow the same conditions and not idle thier cars while sitting on the road clocking people ext..

What is good for one is good for all correct??????

Almost all companies give their drivers comdata cards there are a few other fueling cards but comdata is probably the most popular. To answer the original question, yes, company drivers do bear the the burden of higher fuel prices. And, not only them but EVERYBODY DOES, here's the analogy i like to use so people understand better. Been to the grocery store lately? Wondering why it's costing so much more money now than it did 5 years ago. Here's the reason, the trucking company due to higher fuel prices has to raise their rates to haul the product. Now what do you think the company that owns the grocery store is going to do? They're going to raise the prices of their products to cover the increased freight cost. Ever heard the saying #### rolls downhill? That's only one segment of the business you can apply it to, everything that's transported and not just by truck. The mainstream media doesn't want to touch this one, all they and most of the democrats want to do is blame it on president Bush. It goes much deeper than that i'm afraid, we MUST start exploring and drilling for our OWN oil and refining here in america while looking for alternative sources. If we don't, look for inflation to out pace spending 10 to 1 in the next 10 or so years. It's a perfect recipe for recession and then depression.

 

They are given a fuel card that they can use...
Some companies are limited to only using one type of truck stop.. Like some may be limited to only using Pilots.. Other companies will even tell you the exact truck stop you must stop at like T/A I65 exit 131.. And to boot some may even tell you T/A I65 exit 131 and you can only get 56Gal.
Some may even charge you if you go over 56Gal.

Another words it varies from company to company on how a company driver can buy fuel. With the fuel price getting out of control companies are really tightening thier belts and really being strict with the purchase of fuel.
