who has the best lease program for some one with six mounths otr

good points, I didnt think about some of those points. A lot of this is why im waiting before I decide something plus want to make sure I decide to remain a trucker for the next several years.

 

Where is Greatwide out of? I finally saw one of their trucks parked here at a Walmart im spending the night at in Sacramento but I dont notice too many of them around here. I went to their website to try and get some info on pay, positions etc but all they have is for you to apply and not much info.

 

Check out John Christner Trucking. They are based in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, have longer legs and have a unique weekly payment based on mileage, not the lease payment itself. Plus at the end of their lease, you pay the owner $1.00 as your "balloon" payment and own it.

According to their website, however, you will need a year of real OTR to be considered, though there have been exceptions. They want to make sure you can make the pickup and drops on time. That is a skill that takes a full year, including the Winter many of us are about to enter. It's not as easy as it seems.

 

there was a guy at a pilot in OR who tried to recruit me to JCT and gave me a referral card but I never bothered to go further with it since I do not know enough drivers from there and if I go to another company I want them based closer to home.

 

If you have the financing available you can routinely get more truck for less money going directly through the dealer. However your purchasing power and influence as a single truck buyer will often place you behind most mega carriers when it come to dealing with a carrier. JCT does have an attractive program that has continued to work for me over the past 6.5 years. And with its walk away option I have seen it be used successfully time and again to allow a prospective owner operator get their feet wet before committing to a full purchase.

 

You can go to dealer like a big carrier.
