There are several discrepancies in the story. I'm not discounting everything, but I'm skeptical of a good deal of what is stated in the story.

Me thinks it's more on the lines of spending night at motel and returning to terminal each day.

I don't know but I watch cops on tv and EVERY domestic battery case I see.. someone goes to jail. Not many men are just going to look at a broken and battered woman and say.. oh yeah.. were not going to arrest the PERSON that did it to you. Even though he has claw marks and your items are in this truck.. pretty fishy around these parts here, I say.

Actually married to a leo any "domestic violence" requires an mandatory arrest ....she had to arrest a mom for trying to put her drunk addult daughter in a car .....this would have resulted in one of the two goibg ro the pokey just my two cents but lets play name the company sounds like covenant to m:) e

She's not telling a straight story. Even though she is a lowly truck driver an officer is duty bound to arrest an offender when faced with ANY evidence of abuse.

Anybody got the audio book unabridged version of this story. Involves way to much reading. Cliff notes maybe

Depends on where it is. In Las Vegas, NV, short of attempted murder, domestic violence and simple assaults are handled by citation and notice to appear only...

This story is complete and total ########, btw. Whoever authored it undoubtedly watches way, WAY too many lifetime movies and/or has a disgruntled attitude towards truck driving. I've spent time in county jail, state prison and over the road and I've never heard of anything this outrageous or insane actually being true. Besides, anyone who's ever been an inmate or a driver will tell you that other inmates and drivers ALWAYS have stories and most of those stories are BS...

Late EDIT: Not naming the company is suspicious too. If the story is legit naming the company would be a public service to the community and protected under free speech...

Amen! I said I'd read it after work....but I lied. Read the replies of others....and I'll take their word for it that the story stinks in every way.

Women in the trucking industry do undergo discrimination and abuse. I have experienced it during a period where I was required to team with a man. He had a fantasy in mind, he was so completely sure I agreed to team with him because he was a man, not because I had to get the training period done and chose to not wait for a female trainer. I was on the truck 3 days and it went from bad to worse. And then he told me don't bother to complain because no one would take my word over his, that I put myself in the truck with him not the other way around.

That's when I typed it out on the q.com and got us routed to a terminal and waited for a female trainer. We got there and nothing else was said. But if I was determined to make trouble for him I could have done that but I chose to let it go. And do you know why? Because he was married and I wasn't going to be that person who took him down. I fully believe I could have made him regret it if only I chose to do it.

I guarantee you I will never train with a man unrelated to me again. And my advice to other women is get a female trainer, wait for her. Lesson learned.

The OP could be lying. Maybe. Maybe not.

    I'm not lying.
