Didn't think so. Guess I need to take the .50 cal out of the truck when I get home.

    JimTheHut Thanks this.

They made me leave my Flamethrower at home despite my best efforts to convince them it was barbecuing purposes only. :violent3:

I would love to be able to have one with me as well...but rules are rules. There are other acceptable items that work very well at close range in a very close quarters!:Screwdriver::Monkey wrench::Wrench::smt117:smt065:smt079:dmage::smt064:lichmalignus::thin::whax::blackknight::whdat::smt021:smt075

Well I did not get to pull in until after my time was done. I sat for at least 10 hours. Got to read my book for a long time...lol
When I got to the receiver....same company....the girl gave me some grief for being late. I told her it was her company that did it. She said that it did not matter.....I bit my tongue!
From there I got an assignment to pick up over at US Steel Midway going to Silgan Can in Maxton....This is Wednesday. When I got there, there was only myself and another Mav going to door 51, so we were in and out of there pretty quick. Etap said that I would deliver on Friday.
I made it to spiceland Indiana before I stopped for the night. When I got up I decided that it would probably be in my best interest if I could make it to Maxton today and then spend the night at Laurinburg. That way I would be on the list early for hopefully a load going home. I did not want to end up getting on the board late on Friday and ending up with a load from Charlotte to Ny on Monday.
So I drove the speed limit whenever possible. I was going through the mountains, so I had to take it easy through there. When i stopped at Brintles for fuel and my break, I estimated that I could make it to Maxton today, so I sent in my updated eta. On the way down there I got a preplan to pick up in Darlington SC on Friday at 0700 going to St Joe Indiana for a Monday delivery. SWEET!
When I got to the receiver, I had 32 minutes left to drive. Got mt after waiting for about 45 minutes for them to finally come and unload me. Then it was off to Laurenburg at the terminal. They have really cleaned up the yard. It looked almost sterile.
I tried to get my truck in for its 25000 mile maintenance, but I was just at 20k so they said no.
Headed out Friday Morning at 0500 and got there at 0600. As soon as I got there, she was calling to see if anyone needed to check in. She then told me to come on up. At about 0730 they called me to pull in. Me and another Mav going to the same place were the first to get loaded. It was a no tarp load, so we were out of there pretty quick.
I thought I might be able to make it home on Friday, but I was going to come up about 45 minutes short. So I stopped at the truck stop in Jackson Ohio.
It is one of my favorites because in my first year of driving, I got hung out there for the weekend. My Mom and Dad drove down about 60 miles to see me and have Diner with me. They are both gone, but I can still see them there. I always sit in the same place and relish in the great memories of them.
I made it home about 0800 this morning. My wife called me at about 0810 and asked me how many more miles I had.....I told her none...lol
I will spend the night in the truck tomorrow night. I will head out around 0400 as it is 160 miles and they open at 0700. Since I sat alot this week, I am just going to do recap next week instead of waiting until 0600 and getting my restart. I like to be mt as soon as possible on Monday to get a good load to keep on going. There are no guarantees, but I like doing it that way. Hope you all have a great weekend! God Bless!

Made my delivery in St Joe on Monday morning. Turned out this place was only 8 miles south of Butler Indiana. When I was empty I just headed up and parked in SDI's parking lot. After about 30 minutes, I got a load to pick up at Heidtman steel, which is next door. This load was going to Cannon Automotive in Bowling Green. Along the way down there I got a preplan to go to Logan Aluminum for a pick up from 6 to 10. The last time I was at Cannon Automotive it got backed up very quickly. So I knew I was going to have to get there early so that I could get unloaded in enough time to make it to Logan Aluminum by 10:00. I arrived an hour early at Cannon and there were already three trucks in front of me. By the time I got mt and made my way over to Logan, it was 0930.
I did not have to wait at logan at all. Got right in and got loaded immediately. This load was going to Dockside Logistics in Charleston SC.
My appointment was for 1545, so I had plenty of time to get there. I gave myself a two hour cushion so I could just take it easy on the way down.
I got a preplan for Georgetown Sc, which is what I figured I would get.
Made my way down there after my unload. When I got there, I was informed that there was another Mav driver on site that could use my help. I told him that I would be happy to help. After I pulled around, the loader stopped me and asked me again If I would be willing to go over and help the other Maverick driver that was securing back in the docks. I said sure. Went over and showed the driver what was wrong. Showed how to do it on a couple of coils and then had them do it on a couple so I know they had it down. Went over to load mine and told them I would be back to check on them.
Came back over and they had it correct. Pulled around to the other lot and finished securing mine and then helped the other driver with their tarp.
This load was heading to Bedford Heights Ohio. I left out at 0330 the next morning and made it up into ohio at the small pilot on 77. Can not think of the name.
Left out on Friday Morning at 0345 and arrived at Bedford Heights at 0600. I had a preplan to pick up in Koppel Steel at 1000, so I wanted to make sure I was at Bedford Heights early to get unloaded and then make it to Koppel. Made it to Koppel by 0945 and had to wait for the train to move the cars in and out. Then got loaded by the most friendly loaders I have ever met. They were super nice and it was fun to talk to them.
Since I have a pm due on my tractor, I tried to get it done at the TA at I 71 and I76. After they contacted Maverick, they were told to do the trailer as well. I waited for 2.5 hours and never got into the shop. I did not want to spend the night there, only 70 miles from home, and I did not want to run illegal. So I left and made it home in time.
I am going to Winamac Indiana. Along the way there is a TA in Wappakoneta Ohio. So I will leave out here on Sunday after Church and stop and get the maintenance done. Then head on over to the receiver to spend the night. Ended up with 2453 miles for the week which to me is excellent.

Might see you @ consignee in Winamac Monday morning Jim. We have the same thing you do and yes it was really nice loading @ Koppel Steel. Luckily we didn't have to wait for the trains. In & out easy peasy. And the guy loading was super nice. We were there around 1100 Friday.

    JimTheHut Thanks this.

Whatever became of Maverick putting our names on our trucks after a year? It'll be two years for me in Jan.
