He's been talking to drivers every time he stops anywhere long enough to have a conversation. He's been talking to a lot of USX drivers who say as long as you go company you do good. I think he's gonna go that route, at least for a few years and then hopefully get a more local job.
If you love your wife, avoid CR England

Other companies will take him immediately also. All they have to do is look everything up.Takes a day or 2,surely your husband can wait that long.I understand your anger and don't blame you one bit.I went thru it with many companies, but can you plz be alittle nicer at your posts.People here aren't attacking you or your husband.Think most here have empathy towards what you both are going thru.

Assuming you live in the midwest....because your husband was gonna turn truck in in Indy, there are PLENTY of companies that hire in that area and are home EVERY WEEKEND!! I may just be speaking for myself but you dont need to run 3k miles a week to make $....unless your a newb, those days are over......
pattyj Thanks this. -
Not to mention only getting home every 3 or 4 months. That would cease immediately with me,contract or no contract.
FLATBED Thanks this. -
I think he is from Mississippi
-
I mean even if he went to US Express.......there is no point to run all those miles and not get home.......
You may not get it as worse as he did from CRE, but most all these big companies are the same..... they stress you will make $ by running as many miles as humanly or legally possible.....and we will get you home every month or so........thats ridiculous.... -
Amen to that brother! I run between 1500-2500 miles a week. Home every night. Weekends off and I make a #### good paycheck.

He's from MS, but we live in VA now. Tidewater area. There are TONS of ports with shippers that come into them since we live on the ocean, but they all want 2-5 years exp. Even the cement places want at least 2. It just sucks. I feel like we're in a never ending catch 22.

Your in tidewater?? Im an O/O with First Coast Logistics pulling containers, our office is in Chesapeake on Military Hwy. I have an open 2nd truck! If he can qualify, I pay on 50/50 split after fuel (for all you pansies, it will be on a 1099 as he would choose his runs, days off, and complete control of the truck)
He will be home every night and off every weekend if he chooses.
Does he have TWIC or Haz Mat and how much experience??OPUS 7 Thanks this. -
Not true!!! Why do these threads swing pendulum-like between blaming the victim, outright frontal assaults on the victims and veil-thin sympathy for the victim??? Where is your outrage, drivers??
This kind of post is really too much, appallingly insensitive:
Could something be done? Sure. Would it require a boycott? No. A thread of all companies seen loading or unloading a CR England truck and then contact information for that carrier and letters, letters, letters documenting the TTR horror stories with copies to local media in each shipper's/receiver's community.
Would TTR let us do it here? Dunno. Could we link to a 'Stop CR England' blog? Perhaps... Could drivers be galvanized to action? Dunno.
Should we? Absolutely. Absolutely.
1.6 million truck drivers in the US (Bureau of Labor Statistics). That's strength in numbers if we choose to flex it. Will we? Dunno.Last edited by a moderator: Oct 28, 2013
