As for the maverick glass division, what are average range of miles for new rookies? And do the miles slo down in certain times like winter, etc? If the miles ARE low, is one of the other divisions easier to make more money on?
also that kind of trucks do they use?apu's/etc? Thanks

The glass guys can answer the mileage questions, but as for the trucks:
They're all Freightliner Cascadias, most less than 3 years old. 10 speed automatic transmissions (newer trucks bought after the turn of the year will have 12 speed autos) electronic APUs, OnGuard Collision System, Wabco Tire Pressure System, and the newest Qualcomm model MCP200.
If you have any other specific truck questions, I'll be happy to help. I can't say for sure what the glass mileage average is, but we have several glass guys on here who I'm sure will jump in and answer. I know that if you're coming in as a student, glass starts at .40 per mile. Drivers coming in with a year's experience or more can start out as high as .49 per mile in glass depending on exact experience level.wyio Thanks this. -
I've been in the glass division for two years. My average is around 2800 miles a week. That'll net me about 1200$ a week. I've had low weeks like 1900, but I've also had 4,450 mile weeks. Glass trucks are governed at 64.

By stable work history, I mean pretty much having constant employment for the last several years with no big gaps. The number of jobs doesn't factor in nearly as much, unless you've had like 20 or something. -
Rigbuilder. Im trying to decide between Maverick and TMC. I have been excepted by both. Im in Upstate ny very close to one of the dedicated Glass Runs but will just be coming out of school in a couple of weeks and not qualified for the dedicated run until I get 6 months in OTR experiance. The pay seems to be better at Maverick on paper but concerned about dependable miles. Any advise on the glass division and the company as a whole to work for would be much appreciated. Any details about the orientation and training also. Thanks

I personally can only run around 34-3500 miles before my 70 hour clock is burnt out. That is even with things being keep neat and trim. There is some wait between loads and what not. I have also heard alot of guys end up taking resets on the road over the weekend.

TMC is employee owned now...at least that is what a driver told me.
