So i just spoke with NBI Trucking here in FL about starting school soon, as they seem to be higher quality than the haggard situation i walked into at Roadmaster Tampa a couple weeks ago. *shudder* that place is just run down. never seen someone open the door to a truck and most of the door panel separate from the door before.....just wow.
anyways, U.S. express has been bumped to one of my top three companies to apply to during the training process, and i mentioned this to the woman i spoke with (sherry) and she told me that U.S. Xpress is not hiring students out of florida, because of a lack of freight to get you home, i called USX recruiting who verified the same, just though potential students like me or recent grads who live here on america's dong should know you will have to relocate to be hired as of now. unable to say if it will change in the future. Sucks...... was really looking forward to getting on with USX after reading through wedge's thread.

Rinaudo Enterprises(Rinaudoinc.com), Heavy Haul In Jacksonville..not sure what your plan is, dry van, reefer, etc..but they do hire students.
spectacle13 Thanks this. -
Know anyone who would let you put your address down as Georgia ? My trainer lives in Pensacola, FL...his GF lives in Georgia. He used her address. Then after he got hired...he changed it back to Florida. They let him take the truck home with him.spectacle13 Thanks this.

TruckDuo and spectacle13 Thank this. -
Yes, I do. And I will if it comes down to it. But this is more for information for others. I'm looking at flatbed companies now. But if I'm unable to get on with one I will consider relocation for this.

My plan is actually to run flatbed, but I will be getting my tanker endorsement. I like the idea of being a little more specialized than dry van or reefer. But as I said, if dry van is all I can get on with, I'll do it.
