    I may stand corrected here..

I called the Haz-Mat and CDL Team in Albany Ny..This guy made me laugh. He said stop listening to the truck stop CB Stories...:biggrin_2559:

In the event we miss or forget or get called active duty, the CDL PORTION will be plassed on ''HOLD'' or ''INTRA STATE'' ONLY.This may be plased like this up to two years until the drivers shows proof of the MEDICAL CARD...He/She can still drive but only in STATE..

Look at it this way..Inter State is when you need a ''Medical Card''..So if you drive out of state, you must have and pocess a medical card..

Intra State is just driving in state...You do not need a Medical Card....

So the CDL Portion will just go into the ''Intra State'' in the Data Base until the driver proves he/she is qualified medically...

So this guy told me that he is getting many many calls from truck drivers listening to the truck stop CB...:biggrin_2559:..I guess i am guilty...

    Does this make sence..??

The trucking companies got themselves into this mess, they will have to get themselves out of it. They will have to upgrade their standards in addition to upgrading their pay scales to clean up this mess of a situation.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Just got a brand spankin new CDL DOT physical exam. I'm in Texas and they told me it was only good for 1 year now. Is everyone aware of this new 1 year law?

None of that is law... it's just what the recommendation of the medical review board is. High BP, type 2 diabetes, etc., will get you a 1-year card instead of a 2-year card. It's been that way for some time.

Thanks for the link Condocruiser. I am a stage 1. I have only been on blood pressure medicine for 1 week. I took my blood pressure a few weeks ago knowing the DOT physical was coming up. I''m 49 years young, 5'11" & now weigh 206lbs. Never had a problem with this before. My blood pressure today was 120 over 80. Before the medicine it was 140ish over 90ish which is borderline. Glad I found this before the DOT pyhsical & went to the doc to get it taken care of. I was up to 230lbs and had been dieting & excersizing for a few weeks hoping to get it down without taking any meds but ran out of time. Doc says that if I can get down to 180lbs & keep excersizing that I probably won't need to take the medicine any more.So if yall see an idiot running around his truck & trailer at the truck stops it could be me. It's hard to find time & a place to excersise. Why don't they put gyms at truck stops & have some healthy foods?
