Sorry guys and gals, noob question:
Do high gas prices affect company drivers as well as owner-operators? I know that OO's bear the brunt of these prices, but what about 'regular' drivers?
Thanks!

Also, it effects the idling of the truck, more and more companies are giving "incentives" to not idle the truck. I'm sure that there are drivers on her that can fill you in better on these policies.

These laws and the people pushing them, are wrong. Expecting driver to get a restful sleep in sweltering heat or freezing temperatures and not be fatigued.
You can't leave a dog out in inclement weather, but its Ok, for these states to do that to our drivers. -

Yes fuel prices do effect company drivers...
I would not think it has nothing to do with raises a driver may get. (more like CEO bonuses and fancy corporate things would be effected.) may affect drivers with really small companies wages though.
Company may start to slack on maintenance for thier trucks to maintain profit.
Most company drivers could care less about the fuel prices, they just stop anywhere and fuel..
No idling laws are becoming more common (thanks to the weirdo's in Cali)
As one mentioned it is not okay to leave a pet in a car but it is okay to leave a human in it.
I would like to see law makers obied by the same conditions and not use air conditioning/heat at work or thier home.
Cops would also need to follow the same conditions and not idle thier cars while sitting on the road clocking people ext..
What is good for one is good for all correct??????
Oh unless your a worthless truck driver.......... -
Along similar lines... How do company drivers pay for their gas? I know that they are reimbursed somehow, so do you use a company credit card or do you pay up front and then submit your expenses?

Some companies are limited to only using one type of truck stop.. Like some may be limited to only using Pilots.. Other companies will even tell you the exact truck stop you must stop at like T/A I65 exit 131.. And to boot some may even tell you T/A I65 exit 131 and you can only get 56Gal.
Some may even charge you if you go over 56Gal.
Another words it varies from company to company on how a company driver can buy fuel. With the fuel price getting out of control companies are really tightening thier belts and really being strict with the purchase of fuel.
