ive heard other "old timers" state that they hate getting flashed when passing to say "hey you can come over". obviously ive tried getting them on the radio but half the time it seems its off in their truck. and i cant turn my lights on n off because they are constantly running when in gear. only other thing i can think off is to flash my clearance lights. so the big question is why do yall hate to be flashed at night? other than the obscenely obvious reason. is there any other reason?

I like being flashed at any point in the day :yes2557:

...but seriously it's not that big of an issue, if you've been driving for a while you know when you're past the other truck...

Sometimes its like you're ###### if you do and ###### if you don't.You do a good thing and they could care less.Yes the lights can do tricks to your eyes but that's the many things you have to put up with at night.Does'nt bother me.Not many will flash me to get over but almost every vehicle uses their brights.Try driving with that at night.

It's against my companies policy to flash other trucks. Also, I don't need to be flashed because I'm not one of these idiot truckers who cuts in when I'm just past the truck I just passed. I'll get 3/4 to a full truck length ahead of them before I move over.

No need to make getting flashed over that big of a deal. Not "required", but I always do it.
I once had to temporarily drive a truck with "always on" headlights. Unable to flash, and hated it!

Once you've been driving awhile, you know when you're clear, and besides, in majority of the cases, you should not cut right back in too close (allow plenty of braking distance for that truck you just passed, in case something unexpected comes up ahead of you).

Flashing your clearance lights is hardly noticeable, unless the driver has his eyes glued to his mirror.
When dealing with fog, poor visibility, or heavy traffic, THEN flashing a truck back over is even more important.
