Hello fellow truckers, I want to run a quick idea by you and get your thoughts on it.
I am going to purchase a piece of land that has a free standing 2000sqf building and is all paved with room for 50+ trucks to park. What I want to do is have parking for local truckers and others just stopping by for daily rates of 10$ and 150/monthly. I also want to offer the services while you are parked to have your oil changed with you on location or while you are away from truck, tire sales and install at heavy discounts and other small things like car wash and other things. In the near future, 6months-1year I will also put a repair shop(but thats a little later). Would you visit a location like this? My main question is, do you think I can compete but big name truck stops? Thanks for any input, I appreciate it.
Would you visit this truckstop?

Well where is this trkstp going to be at?
Is it easy to get into out of?
Will the local people allow it?
Check your zoning laws before getting to exicted..
Good luck if it can work out.VisionLogistics, CondoCruiser and SHC Thank this. -
The location would be in south Florida, close to 95 and turnpike. And of course, the question is dependent on the location being approved and running.

you could have a sink hole for a parking lot and charge $25 a day in S Florida and it would fill up by 5pm............VisionLogistics and SHC Thank this. -
Parking is slim down there and would be welcomed.
You need to check how deep the asphalt is. If you don't have at least 6" of binder on a solid base trucks will tear it up in no time. If it was for cars before you are lucky if there is 2-3" there.
Any snooty neighbors that might contest it? Research the zoning laws for there.VisionLogistics Thanks this. -
Would use it, only thing I would add is make sure you get on the DAT trucker app asap. I use that a lot and some of the non big 3 TS arent listed

Wildwood is exit 129 on I75. There is a TA , Pilot , and I75 chrome on the same exit. But that's on the other side of the state. Just a thought , buy x number of gal = free parking. Lots of other truck stops it's 50 gal , or 20 $ in the store , or x dollars on repair. I spend 500$ on fuel then 10 for parking , not a happy camper.
VisionLogistics and qtip Thank this.
