I used to drive FLA too. it was good truck, but.... cant be used for international shiping in EU becouse of emission. It is Euro-II usually. But I see one old FLA hauling cookies from Lugansk to Baltics.

I plan on purchasing a glider, wonder what regs down the road will hold for them..

Try calling Fitzgeralds or Pittsburg power. They do a lot of gliders. As long as you don't go into the communist state of California for now .. The only bad thing with them is that they have a VIN to show a glider.. So if you sell the truck it will show up. Also if you want a COE freightliner has gliders. But not new. Now if you do any pier work.. They will be in a short few years be requiring the 08 minimum requirements after seeing what's happening on the west coast. It's all about pollution control with them .

Coming into this late, but my guess is that he's headed for their pole fleet. they run into BC frequently and BC has (had) a law regarding wheelbases over 244". System used to run FL COE with set back axles so there was a lot of framerail behind the cab for hauling said poles. I put a lot of miles in one of those blue cabovers.

Old US cabover were not safe enoght. Cabs were too weak and many drivers were killed inside.
Modern EU cabover is of the same safety level like US conventional truck, but more expencive and cab is much heavier -
yeah i've talked to fitzgerald and p/power. Just sold the KW on friday and not sure which direction i'm going. Spent 6500 this year on sensors, egr, egr cooler and dpf problems... hated to sell her but just to costly.. even considering going company driver after 12 yrs as o/o

For what its worth,Freightliner recently added (in the last few months)the Argosy to their SpecPro specing program. The majority of dealers arent even aware of it. Glider or with all the fantastic emissions garbage.
