Hi i have a 05 Vnl and area where the left hinge bolted to the hood cracked. It is the plastic fiber glass beam thing where the hinge is bolted to. It is not totally fail yet but almost half of the area already separate. The outer shell of the hood is still ok. But it seem the inside of the support is hollow and I can fill it with some sort of resin or foam to make it more rigid?
Anyway I will see a body shop soon but seem like not a small jobs to fix it properly. And it look like quite a few trucks from the same year have this problem also. Any idea what to do next?

Simple...open door, remove hand grenade from pocket, pull pin, throw grenade in cab, slam door, run like hell. Easy fix to your hood problem
luvtotruck and poniikyanion Thank this. -

I thought about getting some fiberglass mesh and some fiberglass resin and put that over whee the crack is, But you would have to have some support to it and then be sure none of the resin comes to the outside where the paint is, kind of a delicate situation but worth the expense. I reinforced some Volkswagen Fiberglass Baja Fenders way back several years ago, because I wanted to hang the original tail lights on these fenders, it lasted pretty good.
