    Sorry for the delayed response but, I am working with Schlumberger in cement dept. I was never in frac, thus I can't tell you anything about them. We are verrrry slow right now & frac even sllllllooooooooowwwwwwerrrrrr!!!!!! They have screwed up a few accounts & it's taking Slb a minute to rebound!
    Cement is separate from them, but still the cementing competition is killing our buz. (why we too are slow).
    {not sure where the question about o/o came in but I am not driving a truck at this time. In cementing and with these big companies, you do more equipment operating than you do driving!!!!}

    AutoBay Thanks this.

    Well, I am still SOS (temp) employee. SLB is trying to get me in as full time employee...
    As temp, it's all about the hours ( ave. about 70-95ish). AS a full time employee, it's all about the "jobs" you go on = BONUS$$$$.
    I've not been in the buz long enough to tell you how much they make. I can say, there are some that make over $100k in our buz!!! Others about $50 + k.

    I have a job interview with schlumberger on Dec 5th. What is the interview process like? Monthly pay..and is it true you are paid on your week off? The schedule I am being told is 15 on 6 off for equipment operator. Any info would be great

    Did you get on directly with them or did you have to go through SOS Staffing?

    I recently worked with SOS & SLB. It is 15/6 in the cement dept. Im not sure what Frac is doing. It was slow for both now (low - med hours> 50-80ish per week). With SOS you will make $15 hr. If you get into about 4 mos.AND YOU SWITCH OVER TO WORK WITH SLB, it should go up to $17 hr.
    Cement work is fairly ez, it's just that I am asthmatic & the cement floats in the air like a mist!!! (bad for me!, others handle it with noooo problem, but look at it like 'black lung' for mine workers... sneaks up on you). Another thing about SLB is SAFETY!!! Every other word out of a SLB employee is "BE SAFE" . It's a good company to work for in that way.
    I started out in renting my own place, then SOS asked if I lived there, I said YES, thus they did NOT OFFER me to stay at the man camp! (which you definately want!) TELL THEM YOU ARE FROM where ever you are from, AND YOU NEED A PLACE TO STAY, once you pass all the bkgrd checks, they may offer you the camp right away or once you start orientation! The camp is a nice place to stay & FREE!!! You can stay there non stop for up to 90 days, but things are changing there. Putting people out quicker now. Midland is a RIP when it comes to rent... $900 pr. mo min. for a one br. flat. Be prepared to pay it or HAVE/GET A ROOMATE!!! Even hotels are min. $100 for the crappy places. Food is bad there cause all the real chef's are working in the oil fields (lol).
    I am back in Las Vegas, not making as much money, but I do ok as a cab driver here... it was quite an experience in that little town!!! And now eating like a pig again, lmfao...

    Equipt. operator, decent job, they will eventually send you to "Kellyville, Ok." to "finishing school" for CDL. (weather you have a cdl or not, ya gotta go, it's a 2 week vacation they say) YES IT IS 15 ON/6 DAYS OFF, NO PAY FOR DAYS OFF WHILE WITH SOS... If you are on long enough to get on perm. with SLB, then you are paid about $500 per week min. working or not.

    Sorry for the delayed reply, not here often. I was cement the whole way. I was in Midland Tx, crappy but cute little town. Nuthin to do but watch TV & Movies on your days off, if ya dont go home. I was considered a "Equipt. Oper." for cement. I started out with that, ended with that. I made hours from 36 (low) to {60ish ave.} to 125 hrs per week <(highest)$1,850> for that one week. It's a bit slow for this time of the year tho. Probably will p/u after the first.
    Not sure what offers are out there, but they are almost always hiring for SOS & SLB equipt oper. because they lose so many people thru attrition. (revolving door)
