I will be Driving up their for start date on Jan 6. If anyone else will be there then, I don't mind giving rides to and from.

I think it depends on the age of the truck, but by now many will likely have a Qualcom or Peoplenet system in them. The truck will have a GPS tracker in it, but only for the company to know where the truck is at.
If you want a GPS navigation system, you will have to bring your own.
But first get a good map, and learn how to use it.
It will never direct you down a road with a low bridge or unmarked non-truck rt.Lux Prometheus and adidas5136 Thank this. -
Elogs, but during training period they have you do both to make sure you know how to paper log. No gps navigation at this point. They are slowly rolling out a new system thats built into the qualcomm and truck pc units for turn by turn. but personaly i don't want it, I like my map book.adidas5136 and Bayle Thank this.

I have not driven in 4 years and only have about 6 months otr with Swift.
I applied today with Roehl....do they have reftesher courses or do you think it's back to the beginning? -
Depends.
I just went through a refresher at Roehl after taking 2 years off. A lot depends on your initial evaluation. If they are willing to hire you, then they will be willing to train you and help you to be safe. -
How much does Roehl start off? I hope they do elog. I was with Averitt and they start you off paperlog, and they ran me on very little sleep on the Cracker Barrel account. I don't think it was on Averitt though, the woman making the schedules seemed to not take into consideration that we have to unload the truck. We kept getting messages that drivers are missing appointment times and getting behind on appointments later in the week. Oh Gee I wonder why. Anyway, after that, I will only work for a company that puts us on elog.

Roehl is on eLogs, though you may have to use a paper log for a short time (for example, if you're out with a trainer) so they can confirm that you know how to do paper logging in case it becomes necessary.
adidas5136 Thanks this. -
First time here, so please be kind to me. I too have started with Roehl today. So far everything has gone smoothly. My two main questions for the members would be: are pets allowed and what make and model rig will most be issued once our ability to drive is proven. Thanks for your comments!!
