I recently had one of the worst repair experiences ever for my 2007 Frght. Initially a complete misdiagnosis. resulting in a $3000 repair that didnt fix the problem. I brought the truck back, and after 4 weeks of trial and error. they now fixed it & gave me another $5500 bill - no credit given for the first mis diagnosis. They said pay it or we wont release the truck. This is in South Carolina at the actual Freightliner dealership. Any advice on where I can turn? A lawfirm, consumer advocate, South Carolina state protection agency..any advice would be very helpful. Its like blackmail, they know you cant live without your truck. Please help!

Call consumer affairs in SC and also contact the state aumsbudsman or however its spelled. Not only that contact the BBB also blog freightliner everywhere you can so we know where not to go. I've had run ins with freightliner as well. I don't think highly of them idiots at all. 9 hours to wire a dump switch and wires for the cords yea right. I've heard many issues of them misdiagnosing problems before as well. You had a parts changer working on your truck there's a lot of them out there. Their excuse is we had to pay the tech to diagnose the problem. They didn't fix it and that's where you're argument comes from of course. Document everything and turn that into the BBB. They can help you with the issues you have. Be aware though I have had my experiences with south Carolina as well. It takes a long time to get things done and there is a lot of foot dragging that goes on. Getting this resolved will not be a short process.
Legal council though the most expensive will probably be the fastest way to get this issue resolved. Did they put parts on when they misdiagnosed the problem the first time? That will also come into any as you paid for parts to be replaced. You need to document everything all the bills and all work done in order to have a leg to stand on. Good luck with your situation. I'd love to see it stuck to freightliner and their incompetent techs!!!Doublewide and Charli Girl Thank this. -
Thanks for the advice. I will definitely contact Consumer affairs. But I cannot wait that long for a resolution. Does anyone know of a good Consumer Advocate or lawyer to talk with about this? I dont want to throw good money after bad but I may not have a choice. I have documented everything. I purposely conducted most of my correspondence via email so I have written responses rather than just telephone.

I have spoken with the owner of the dealership but not Freightliner Corp.

Local Media, bad publicity travels fast and normally gets a LOUD response. If you can get someone to run the story about Freightliner being a shady company and get lucky enough that someone in Freightliner upper management gets wind of it Freightliner and the dealership will do what it takes fast to quiet you down. Just an option, Good Luck
